About the role:

Join Takeda as a Data Digital and Technology, External Communications Lead where you will partner with Takeda's Communications and Public Affairs team to build external relations and improve awareness of Takeda's data and digital transformation among patients and healthcare providers, investors, and media. You will also develop, package, and pitch stories focused on Takeda's digital transformation and how it supports Takeda's values surrounding Patients, Reputation, and Business. As part of the Global Data and Technology (GDT) team, you will report to the Head of Change Management and Communications and work with the GDT Leadership team to seek and improve opportunities for our Takeda leaders to speak at external events and contribute to external content that highlights our digital transformation.

How you will contribute:

  • Develop communications plans that maximize the impact of data and digital transformation campaigns through the use of a diverse set of strategies and channels.

  • Manage a content calendar to support strategic programs, data and digital product launches, and tech talent acquisition campaigns.

  • In partnership with Takeda's Communications and Public Affairs team, draft press releases, internal messaging, and leadership talking points to support strategic programs.

  • Build relationships with company partners to develop a stream of external content.

  • Manage an active social media presence following Takeda's Social Media Policy.

  • Contribute to the DD&T communication vision, and provide the best communications resources, including vendor support.

  • Create communications plans, presentations, social media posts, videos, articles, talking points, and other communications objects to amplify Takeda's digital agenda.

  • Create a range of communications materials and assets for use ensuring ease of access to communications, clarity, and consistency of messaging.

  • Co-author communications for Takeda leaders on new technologies, digital health, and transformation for internal and external audiences.

  • Collect and maintain success metrics to demonstrate return on investment of digital projects and communications efforts.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, or similar area of study

  • 5 or more years of corporate communications experience, either in-house or in a public relations agency (required)

  • Experience building integrated communications programs for a global organization with a creative approach to storytelling

  • Prior brand experience, including strategic global brand communications programs.

  • Project management experience

  • Demonstrated knowledge of corporate communications principles, practices, and techniques.

  • Work with all partners of a global organization, including senior leaders

  • Understanding of latest digital trends and direction of digital innovation (required)


  • Pharmaceutical industry experience

  • Experience in Communication for digital/technology organizations
