  • May serve as Project Manager on assigned Infrastructure Engineering projects.

  • Working with Architects, Engineers, and Vendors to develop conceptual designs and prepares budget estimates.

  • Overseeing project development through design, bidding, construction and punch list.

  • Coordinating the work of outside architects/engineers, contractors and support personnel.

  • Sourcing, qualifying, and contracting with outside consultants. Conducting reference validations, licensing status, insurance and bond requirements, and technical capabilities of vendors.

  • Working with Hospital departments, and contractors to schedule and organize work to be done.

  • Coordinating and schedules any shutdown of services or disruption of affected departments' operations.

  • Coordinating and attends meetings between Hospital staff and outside consultants after the design process and represents the Engineering Department on various hospital committees.

  • Interacting with construction administrators, project managers, and construction superintendents relating to District construction projects.

  • Coordinating and monitors the work of outside vendors or contractors to ensure compliance with Hospital and regulatory policies, procedures and standards.

  • Continually monitors and updates and recommends the update of specifications and procedures for material selection and product/equipment that become hospital standards.

  • Reviewing and inspecting work in progress for compliance with plans, specifications, codes and standards and provides status reports to management regarding project schedules and deadlines per program policies and guidelines.

  • Interviewing and recommending shop personnel selection.

  • Training and orienting staff on Hospital and departmental policies and procedures, job duties and standards, and relevant systems, equipment and materials. Monitors employee work performance, providing feedback and initiating disciplinary action when necessary.

  • Monitoring and enforcing compliance with all trade specific Hospital and regulatory safety and sanitation requirements including any storage, handling and disposal of hazardous materials. Provides related staff orientation and training.

  • Developing and implementing internal policies and procedures necessary to ensure compliance.

  • Maintaining current knowledge of all applicable codes, regulations, standards and accreditation requirements for area of responsibility.

  • Training and updating employees on compliance requirements. Ensuring Hospital compliance and maintains required records.

  • Will be required to pull the annual Electrical maintenance permit for the hospital.

To qualify, you must have:

  • Massachusetts Masters Electrical License Preferred

  • The level of knowledge typically acquired through completion of two years of occupationally specific education and four to five years' experience.

  • The analytical skills to resolve complex problems requiring the use of scientific, mathematical, or technical principles and in‑depth, experienced‑based cross‑functional knowledge.

  • Excellent communication skills in order to effectively deal with conflicting views or issues and mediate fair solutions, or well‑developed writing skills.

  • Prior construction project manager experience is recommended
