Thermo Fisher Scientific Financial Analyst III- FP&A in Boston, Massachusetts
Job Summary: Manage processes related to GSM Finance for the Americas region which includes all Revenue, Gross Margin, Opex, Headcount and Balance Sheet reporting. The ideal candidate will have the ability to drive business decisions through effective analysis and communication with Senior Management. The role will focus on driving increased Sales and Profitability of GSM via deeper customer and segment analysis. This role provides an exceptional opportunity for a motivated self-starter to drive significant value to GSM.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Perform all activities related to month-end, quarter-end and year-end company-wide financial deliverables in an accurate and timely fashion.
Support the GSM Organization through Strategic and Annual Planning (AOP), Monthly Business Review (MBR) and Quarterly Business Review (QBR) reporting.
Support AOP by creating processes and templates for data collection by country and region.
Produce customer segment level Revenue, Margin, and Profitability trending reports and analysis to support Revenue and Profit growth initiatives on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
Drive understanding of product mix, and the impacts on profitability, with a view to driving operational improvements and identifying growth opportunities.
Monthly Support of the Canadian team:
Management of Sales Reporting
Weekly Sales uploads to Essbase.
Monthly Uploads to Essbase for Forecast
Liaison with Contracts team - Support sales leadership on Contracts
Liaison with Commissions team - Help Commissions team set quotas and make decisions on monthly accruals
Support the Service team by assisting in the creation of monthly forecasts, AOP and any necessary analysis to drive additional visibility into the Services business.
Minimum Education, Experience, and Skill Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration (MBA preferred)
8-10 years' experience in Finance/Accounting Roles in Fortune 500 or other large organizations
Expert in Microsoft Excel and other desktop tools
Experience in Power BI, Tableau or other Data visualization tools
Database and intermediate coding skills would be an added asset
Experience with Cognos, Essbase and SmartView preferred
Possess strong analytical skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal, organization and motivational skills
