Facebook Global Facility Operations Asset Quality Management Mechanical Lead in Boston, Massachusetts

Summary:

Our Data Centers are the foundation upon which our rapidly scaling infrastructure efficiently operates to deliver our innovative services. Facebook is seeking an experienced and self-motivated Asset Quality Management Mechanical Lead to join our Global Asset Quality Management team within Facility Operations. This person will work at the leading edge of Facility Operations to serve as a liaison between the data centers, sourcing, engineering, and our external suppliers, to build quality and reliability into our growing fleet of Data Centers. Managing stakeholders spread across time zones is a significant challenge and key to the success of our individual projects and overall asset management program.

Required Skills:

  1. Manage a team of quality engineers.

  2. Work with appropriate technical teams to support quality and reliability of data center equipment to significantly influence design, manufacturing, and process improvements.

  3. Work with Reliability, Engineering, Operations, Construction, and Suppliers to evaluate the failure data and other information and continuously improves quality of equipment.

  4. Follow best known methods for QMS and problem-solving processes.

  5. Participate and support in supplier onboarding process and equipment allocation.

  6. Develop acceptance tests and inspection criteria.

  7. Develop and implement quality process playbooks, executive briefs/presentations and program metrics.

  8. Apply risk management principles when implementing corrective and preventative actions.

  9. Work with asset onboarding team to define minimum data requirements for new assets.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar technical discipline

  2. Experience leading a quality engineering team

  3. 10+ years of experience addressing equipment issues in mission critical operations or manufacturing environment using quality management tools to identify and solve problems

  4. History of leading cross functional teams with external suppliers and internal stakeholders to achieve successful solutions using problem-solving and project management tools, with proven interpersonal and organizational experience

  5. Experience analyzing data to identify quality trends, confirm effectiveness of corrective and preventative actions, confirm equipment reliability, and create metrics that drive customer value

  6. Proficient in Six Sigma (6σ) Methodology

  7. Experience in reviewing and applying lessons learned to prevent occurrence in future equipment

  8. Experience in identifying gaps in a Quality Management System and experience creating and implementing department processes, procedures, and standards

  9. Experience in developing and delivering technical training programs

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. ASQ certification in CMQ/OE, CQE, Six Sigma Belt
