Red Hat GPU/Accelerator Packaging Software Engineer in Boston, Massachusetts

The Red Hat Engineering team is looking for a Software Engineer to join our Accelerator team to package and maintain the components of the GPU and Accelerator infrastructure. In this role, you will help build, package and maintain these GPU and Accelerator-related components for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), which supports our layered products, such as Red Hat OpenShift AI and RHEL AI. These components include Accelerator frameworks, such as oneAPI and ROCm, as well as support libraries and tools necessary to build hardware-accelerated AI frameworks, such as PyTorch. You will be part of our AI, GPU and Accelerator organization, that integrates hardware support for these components throughout the AI/ML stack from the high-level frameworks down to the device drivers in the kernel. We're open to candidates who are in or would be willing to relocate to Boston.

What you will do

  • Analyze the components of the GPU/Accelerator infrastructure to determine what needs to be packaged

  • Build and package these GPU/Accelerator infrastructure components for AI/ML and GPU compute frameworks for RHEL

  • Maintain and support these packages for RHEL and our layered products

  • Collaborate with the GPU/Accelerator upstream communities, including interacting directly with hardware vendors

What you will bring

  • Familiarity with RPM packaging and Linux scripting tools

  • Interest in the GPU compute stacks, such as oneAPI, ROCm or CUDA

  • Experience building Linux components

  • Ability to work Hybrid in Boston MA, Lowell MA or Raleigh NC

The following are considered a plus

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field

  • Experience in operating system integration and tooling; RHEL experience is a big plus

  • Knowledge of Git version control system

  • Passion for developing open source/FOSS solutions

The salary range for this position is $104,080.00 - $166,320.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.

Pay Transparency

Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
