This is a phenomenal opportunity to join our P&G/Gillette family in Reading UK or Greater Boston. Both laboratories are at the forefront of shaving research and have a long track record (over 50 years) of high quality R&D leading to breakthrough product technologies for Gillette including Sensor, MACH3, Fusion, ProGlide, and our Gillette Labs families and a wide range of Venus innovations for women including Venus Breeze, Venus Embrace, Venus + Olay and the Venus Public Hair and Skin line.

In this role you will:

Develop compelling scientific content and product stories to communicate the superiority of key technologies to influencers, customers and consumers, helping to reframe value and overcome barriers to trial and establishing Gillette as the expert in grooming.

Work with agencies to inspire and lead the creation of compelling proof tools, such as product demos and benefit visualizations.

Fuel commercial innovation by identifying unique scientific insights from internal and external sources and working with R&D and Marketing to turn these into business-building initiatives.

Deliver powerful product endorsements from key influencers (e.g. independent test organizations, dermatologists, top male publications) to leverage in holistic marketing communications.

Act as highly effective scientific spokespeople for Gillette (eg in media interviews, at media launch events, scientific forums, etc.) and provide the communication strategies and message tracks for technical spokespeople from R&D and external scientific ambassadors.

Be a responsive resource for Grooming BFO and RBU Brand Communication teams.

Job Qualifications

What we are looking for:

  • A candidate who lives in and /or is willing to commute 3-4 days a week to the Reading UK / Boston US site.

  • Strong technical / scientific background is essential as the candidate will need to become fluent in the science behind our grooming brands and initiatives. Experience in the shaving or beauty /personal care category is a bonus!

  • Strong communications skills with internal and external audiences.

  • Ability to translate complex matters into easy-to-understand and compelling content.

  • Strong leadership skills, combined with the ability to work as part of a global team.

  • The ability to form effective and productive relationships with a range of internal R&D and commercial partners and external influencers.

  • Strong creativity and an entrepreneurial spirit. The ability to make “out of the box” connections and find original solutions to problems.

  • Strong interest in the external environment and a desire to identify and understand emerging trends.

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and drive projects forward to get to desired outcomes with minimal supervision.

  • The role will require travel and occasional attendance at weekend events.
