3M is seeking a Regional Sales Manager for the Health Information Systems Division located in Northeast US / Near Major Airport

Job Summary: The person hired for the position of Sales Manager will….

  • Lead Regional sales functions within 3M HIS, subsidiary of 3M Company

  • Execute business unit strategy, plans and programs, both short and long range, to ensure profitable sales growth and expansion

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Manage Senior Sales Representatives focused on the Larger Health Systems in the Western part of the US

  • Manage activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine regional sales team progress toward stated goals & objectives, territory metrics and quota analysis

  • Drive best practices throughout the sales team to ensure consistent, high quality and repeatable performance, including continuing evolution of the company sales process

  • Set levels of accountability, and hold direct reports accountable to agreed upon deliverables

  • Manage the planning & coordination of regional sales events, including regional sales meetings

  • Knowledge and demonstrable experience selling and delivering complex high dollar ($1.5M+) technology solutions across multiple departments in large hospital systems

  • Experience positioning value / benefits with “C level” decision makers

  • Ability to fully negotiate contracts and close profitable business within the region that protect all expected 3M HIS business unit margins

  • Demonstrate initiative, innovation, continual learning, and personal development

  • Client-centric in style; respected among their clients who is known and respected throughout the client’s hospital leadership and across the client base

  • Energetic self-starter who possesses an intense sense of urgency

  • Action oriented and results driven

  • A person with a strong “hands on” and disciplined work ethic

  • Sets a quick pace and constantly raises the bar for themselves towards higher levels of achievement

  • Provides direct supervision to assigned employees through leadership, coaching, training, development, allocating work assignment, review of progress in achieving quota attainment, managing employee compensation, performance appraisals, diversity, disability, all relevant employee data, etc. Understands and enforces corporate/location policies and procedures

Basic Qualifications:

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited university OR High School Diploma/GED from an accredited institution and a minimum of fourteen (14) years experience in Health Care Software Sales in lieu of the bachelor’s degree education requirement

  • Ten (10) years of leadership role in Healthcare supervising / coaching / managing sales functions

  • Five (5) years combined experience coaching and/or assisting in the development employees and peers

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Master’s in Business Administration degree (M.B.A.) or similar Master’s degree

  • Proven leadership, organization and planning ability

  • Ability to be effective and clear with upward and downward communication

  • Understanding of good work/life balance skills, accompanied by the ability to recognize one’s own signs of stress and manage them well

  • Strong relationship, consultation, and interpersonal skills

  • Proven ability to coach and assist in the development of others, creating success through leadership

  • Proven ability to delegate effectively

  • Proven ability to facilitate growth by sponsoring and championing new products, programs, and ideas through the encouragement of innovation

  • Must have good work/life balance skills, accompanied by the ability to recognize one’s own signs of stress and manage them well

  • Experience in the design and development of sales training programs

  • Located in a 3M office or near a major US airport

    Location: Northeast US (Near Major Airport)

    Sales Territory: Northeast US

    Travel: May include up to 50% domestic

    Relocation: Is not authorized.
