Cabot Corporation HR Director in Boston, Massachusetts
The HR Director role will serve as an HR business partner to our corporate functional leaders of Finance, Purchasing, Legal, HR and Corporate Communications and will support key workstreams within our Talent Management & Development function.
The person will play a key role in managing change and optimizing both talent and performance. This individual contributor role is a member of the HR Leadership team as well as the leadership teams of the functions that they will be supporting. The successful candidate will possess generalist HR skills, with demonstrated subject-matter-expertise in team and organizational development and talent management. This role will require the ability to balance ongoing, short-term, tactical work with longer-term, strategic needs and challenges.
The position will report directly to the CHRO and will be based in our Boston, MA office.
Plan and execute against strategic HR initiatives which are linked and aligned with Cabot’s business and HR strategic objectives.
Provide HR Business Partner Support to corporate function-level executives (Finance, HR, Purchasing, Legal, HR and Corporate Communications).
Facilitate workforce planning, to address the organization’s most significant challenges in succession and talent planning within their assigned businesses.
Develop and embed change management and communication principles, identify metrics for success; and monitor progress.
Lead business focus on attraction, selection, placement, retention, development, succession and assessment strategies.
Lead key workstreams within Talent Management, such as the global talent and organizational review process and talent analytics. This includes understanding stakeholder needs and external best practices to design and implement consistent, robust, scalable practices.
Supporting the work of other aspects of Talent Management, such as high potential identification and succession planning.
Serving as a key thought partner with other members of the Talent Management team on related workstreams.
Continually innovating our approach to reflect world-class best practice, collaborating with HR business partners and business leaders.
Equipping business leaders and HR with the skills and tools needed to manage talent effectively.
Analyze and monitor talent-related data.
Bachelor degree required. MBA preferred.
12+ years of Human Resources experience including all facets of the HR function: recruiting, compensation, benefits and employee relations, with a minimum of five years in a management/leadership position.
International experience required.
Strong experience in Talent Management, able to serve as subject matter expertise in core areas.
In-depth knowledge of strategic HR processes/methodologies, broad experience across HR sub-functions; change management, market trends and competitive practices, management coaching techniques, problem solving/conflict resolution, employment and labor laws.
Proven leadership with the ability to objectively coach through complex, difficult and emotional issues; ability to manage conflict to resolution with demonstrated results.
Ability to build and maintain positive business relationships internal and external to the HR function.
Experience coaching and developing performance at various management levels.
Must be: hands-on, analytical, results-oriented, comfortable with ambiguity, highly organized, customer service oriented, organizationally savvy, able to work independently with very little supervision, able to handle confidential information with the highest degree of professionalism, and a team player who can function effectively in a highly matrixed environment at all levels of the organization.
