Your Role and Responsibilities
This position is for a leadership role responsible for growing, running, and ensuring the success of IBM Quantum strategic partnerships, with significant focus in Germany, Japan, and the United States. This role will be responsible for engaging IBM Quantum partners and users worldwide to educate and build quantum skills, enable research and development on IBM Quantum systems, grow the quantum ecosystem in these regions, understand the capabilities of students, scientists, and developers to supply the tools that will enable a future quantum workforce, and advance partner application goals and use cases.
The position will require interfacing across many individuals and parties at partner institutions and within IBM, including technical, product, and business development teams, in order to align plans across all dimensions of the partnership, manage overall execution, and ensure delivery of successful outcomes. Specific responsibilities include educating and training individuals and groups on quantum computing and IBM Quantum’s offerings; developing deep and influential relationships with and understanding the needs of business and technical leaders at IBM Quantum partners, including industry, government, and academia; guiding adoption and usage of IBM Quantum offerings; and driving new opportunities within these strategic partnerships.
The roles can be located in a variety of IBM locations in the United States including NY, NY; SF, CA; Seattle, WA; Austin, TX.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Research and/or development experience in the area of quantum science, algorithms and/or applications
Experience managing research projects and programs
People and relationship management, analysis, problem solving, communication, coordination, organization
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
PhD degree in quantum information, physics, computer science, or a related field.
Experience in software development and cloud application development.
