About the role:
Contribute to the development and achievement of strategic goals for the Global Paralegal Team and US IP Operations Team, by providing support to facilitate creation and harmonization of patent docketing and its practices, and to enhance communication within the Global Paralegal Team and US IP Operations Team ("Teams" hereafter). Join Takeda as an IP Operations Specialist where you will lead and/or participate in operations-related projects and serve as liaison for mutual and cross-regional communications and discussions within the Teams. As part of the Global Paralegal Team and US IP Operations Team, you will report to the Manager, Intellectual Property.
How you will contribute:
Support and facilitate strategic planning and operations related to global patent docketing by supporting Head of IP Operations and Project Management, e.g., facilitating discussions and collecting information necessary for decision-making by the Global Paralegal Team.
Work as project manager/coordinator role within the Teams
Manage periodic meetings
Organize meetings and draft agenda
Take meeting minutes and track progress of pending items
Provide strategic advice to address issues and/or enhance efficiency and harmonization of global patent docketing
Lead special projects and serve as project manager for initiatives/projects led by the Teams to ensure plans and actions are implemented
Lead and/or participate in site specific and/or global IP operations related projects. The nature of these projects varies over time, but is generally related to procedures and policies within the IP department.
Develop and implement communication tools (e.g. SharePoint site) to enhance information sharing related to docketing (e.g. SOPs, system guide, law information) within the Teams
Create and track rosters/charters for Teams’ initiatives
Control documents (e.g., SOPs, project-related documents) to ensure they are up to date, consistent and accurate
Serve as liaison for mutual and cross-regional communications and discussions withing the Teams
Provide support to build strong rapport with Team members and other internal stakeholders (e.g., IT)
Plan and implement actions to further globalize the global paralegal team
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
Bachelors degree (preferred to have project management experience)
3 - 5 years of relevant experience
Experience working in pharma legal/IP department
Experience with paralegal operations
Familiar and comfortable in working globally with people from different locations with various backgrounds
Strong experience in managing projects that involve multiple stakeholders
Solid analytical and communication skills
Team player; proactively offer support where necessary
