By joining our team, you’ll have the opportunity to deploy and grow your sustainability business and project management skills across a range of active and forthcoming business initiatives and projects. In this role you will be collaborating across Jacobs’ global organization in markets spanning from Transportation, Water, Cities, Buildings, Environment, and Energy.
We are looking for a summer intern based in Boston, MA within our Global Sustainability team. Your primary role will be to support our global sustainability business priorities and hone your project management skills to support our organization in providing consulting services to clients looking to be more sustainable.
Typical work tasks include:
Support global initiatives in growth and strategy, business development, and technical delivery for sustainability and climate response solutions
Analyze business sustainability performance and KPIs
Develop presentations and prepare briefings and reports
Conduct market research and recommendations on sustainability in engineering and design
Collaborate with cross-functional teams
You will collaborate with our technical and sales professionals on projects and/or pursuits of strategic value to the firm. You’ll be expected to possess collaborative and professional communication and problem-solving skills. Successful candidates will have a demonstrated ability to anticipate challenges and be proactive. Demonstrated abilities include a broad understanding of engineering consulting firms in the sustainability space. Any prior experience in design, consulting, or project management will be highly regarded.

This fulltime internship role is hybrid with the expectation of spending 3 days per week in Jacobs’ office in Boston, MA.
Here’s What You’ll Need
Pursuing a bachelor of science or advanced degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, or a related field;
Knowledgeable and passionate about one or more of the following: decarbonization, energy transition, resilience, nature, social value and equity, circularity, and/or sustainable built environments;
Interest in consulting and engineering work across Transportation, Water, Cities, Buildings, Environmental and/or Energy sectors;
Demonstrable track record in project management excellence
Proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools
Excellent communication and technical writing abilities
Strategic mindset and ability to work well both independently and in teams

This will be an in person/hybrid role located in Boston, MA.
Compensation:
Enjoy a competitive hourly base rate of $28.75/hour with a 40-hour workweek.
