Federal Reserve Bank Intern - Network Security Services in Boston, Massachusetts

Job Summary: The intern/co-op will be part of the National IT organization – Solutions Engineering. The intern/co-op will be part of a small internal analytics team. The individual will be part of the BUILD team, assisting in the extraction of data from processes and systems, either structure or unstructured, in an effort to provide knowledge, insights, or predictive analytics about the FRS network. Additionally, the intern will assist in creating a mash up of the data; consisting of multiple data sources, which may require data scraping, to create a single graphical interface. The “single pane of glass” view implies easy, fast integration, by way of application programming interfaces and data sources to produce enriched visual actionable results. It is critical to make existing data more useful and actionable.

The ideal candidate will have had exposure, training and experience in reporting, data mining, and analysis in creating graphical user interfaces and scripts from multiple data sources, using design tools, or via programming languages such as JavaScript and Python. Be able to ask critical questions, forming hypotheses and substantive insights with credible information. General comfort with numbers is essential, as is experience with Microsoft Office products including Visual Studio, and the ability to conduct independent research and analysis culminating with a written report and internally driven presentation.
