State of Massachusetts Interviewer, Occupational Health Surveillance Program - Contractor in Boston, Massachusetts

The Bureau of Community Health and Prevention requires an on-site part-time research assistant/interviewer for the Occupational Health Surveillance Program to work approximately 8-10 hours per week over multiple days per week in the late afternoon-early evenings (i.e. 3pm-7pm). The research assistant/interviewer will primarily be responsible for conducting structured telephone interviews with persons with probable work-related asthma and other respiratory diseases, persons with elevated lead blood levels, and teens and young adults who have been injured at work. The majority of interviews are completed in English with occasional interviews completed in other languages either conducted by the interviewer, as language skills permit, or through the use of a third-party interpretation service. The research assistant/interviewer will also help with related administrative duties, including project mailings, data entry and coding interview data to be used for analyses. _Preferred Qualifications:_ * Excellent oral communication skills. * Ability to keep detailed, accurate, and organized written records. * Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills. * Ability to communicate effectively both verbal and written. * Experience conducting interviews * Fluency in Spanish * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Contract award will be based on the relevance and extent of the applicant’s work experience, and communication/writing skills.
