77278BRJob Posting Title:IRB CoordinatorDepartment:Research-Clinical InvestigationsAutoReqId:77278BRStatus:Full-TimeStandard Hours per Week:40 Job Posting Category:ResearchJob Posting Description:Under direct supervision, the IRB Coordinator will coordinate all activities and functions of training review, continuing review activities for the BCH human subjects program (IRB) to ensure that goals and objectives specified for the program are accomplished in accordance with regulatory compliance, established priorities, time limitations or other specifications. In addition assists IRB Director, Manager, IRB and EQuIP staff with designated tasks within scope of knowledge and authority and oversight of web site for the IRB and EQuIP. This position will be a hyrbid role with the team coming in-person a few times a month.

This IRB Coordinator will be responsible for:

  • Coordinates activities and daily operations of continuing review functions by review and processing of federally mandated continuing review reports submitted by investigators. Screens incoming reports for completeness and contacts investigators with required changes as needed, triages the reports to the IRB chairs or full IRB for review, prepares letters of conditions, prepares final approval letters and updates consent forms as required by regulations.

  • Independently provides technical advice, provide problem solving assistance and answer questions about the continuing reviews , and training requirements to conduct human subject activities and its goals. Refers inquiries to others as needed. If necessary also confers with staff and others as needed

  • Prepare or assists in the preparation of minutes, periodic reports and records on IRB program activities, progress, status or other special reports for management or outside agencies such as AAHRPP. Collects and compiles information from diverse sources, performs calculations, creates charts, graphs and spreadsheets

  • May review applications or other program documents in conjunction with supervisor to determine acceptance or make decisions pertaining to IRB activities, continuing reviews and training requirements

  • Maintains departmental files, records and databases such as IRB member rosters, IRB performance metrics archives, and investigator training logs. Enters information from source documents into computer databases and/or spreadsheets, compiling, and other information as needed

  • Drafts written communication, newsletters for the clinical research community

  • Organizes and assist in planning IRB meetings, special subcommittee activities conferences; coordinates logistics, scheduling and participant communications.

  • Interacts and maintains liaison with staff, faculty and outside/community in facilitating objectives of IRB and EQuIP.

In order to qualify, you must have:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Work requires the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations.

  • Demonstrated ability to think and write clearly in formal business English. Writing sample required.

  • Ample experience and familiarity with Windows and Mac OS computers, MS Office software, common internet browsers, and databases.

  • Work requires critical thinking skills and the ability to work with diverse internal and external constituencies.
