The Role

Partner in a team environment to provide batch operations support 24x7x365, monitoring batch activity, reacting to batch failures, working with development, production support and business users to approve and schedule activity. Provides problem resolution and system admin support. Understand technical changes and advancements in server infrastructure environments.

The Main Responsibilities

•Monitor all batch flow processing and insure timely completion of endpoints

•Identify delays or bottlenecks using proprietary and vendor tools and resolve or escalate

•Perform level 1 and level 2 supports and resolution for all batch abends

•Track incoming and outgoing transmissions ensuring they meet deadlines, escalating to appropriate vendors and Datacenter management when necessary

•Monitor real time performance of the computing environment utilizing automated solutions, 3rd party monitoring software and in-house proprietary tools

•Document system monitoring gaps and interface with engineers to remediate gaps and improve monitoring messaging

•Recommend severity and urgency threshold changes in system monitoring software

•Perform scheduled and unscheduled system shutdown and startup (IPL) utilizing the Hardware Management Console (HMC); perform environmental verifications after IPL is complete

•Perform and verify system configuration changes as specified during weekend maintenance

•Respond to all hardware faults or failures requiring escalation and support toward resolving these incidents.

•Report them via problem tracking software and escalate to management based on severity

•Respond to all console messages and alerts requiring intervention and action

•Track and document all outages and incidents which adversely impact the environment

What We Look For in a Candidate

• Knowledge of Real time Unix/Linux based Ensemble customer care & Billing Infrastructure tools

• Hands on experience of scheduling concepts

• Assoc degree or equivalent education and relevant experience.

• 8 years related experience in specific area or equivalent. 

• 2+ years’ experience in mainframe JCL (Job Control Language)

• 2+ years’ experience using Unix and or Linux

• 2+ years’ experience using Control-M or other Batch scheduling tool

• Available to work on a rotating 12.5-hour schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays

• May require technical certification

Compensation

The starting salary for this role differs based on the employee's primary work location. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual's qualifications.

Location Based Pay Ranges

$54150 - $72200 in these states: AR, ID, KY, LA, ME, MS, NE, SC, and SD.

$56900 - $76000 in these states: AZ, AL, FL, GA, IN, IA, KS, MO, MT, NM, ND, OH, OK, PA, TN, UT, VT, WV, WI, and WY.

$59850 - $79800 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NV, NH, NC, OR, and RI.

$62700 - $83600 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DE, DC, IL, MD, MA, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.

As with the pay range variety that's based on the region of a country, specific offers are determined by various factors such as experience, education, skills, certifications and other business needs.

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

This position is eligible for either short-term incentives or sales compensation. Director and VP positions also are eligible for long-term incentive.
