Thermo Fisher Scientific LIMS Administrator (Remote Opportunity) in Boston, Massachusetts

What we need

We are seeking a deadline-driven, detail-oriented, and collaborative Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) Implementation Specialist to work with our LIMS vendor in the design and implementation of the LIMS system at a new high-complexity clinical diagnostics laboratory facility. Ideal candidates for this role will have extensive experience in implementing LIMS software, including module configuration, instrument integration, interface development to support sample accessioning and revenue cycle management, and user acceptance testing and training. Familiarity with lab quality processes, CLIA, CAP and state regulatory requirements are a plus. Success in this high-visibility role requires high technical aptitude, effective communication, and strong project management skills. The best candidates will be able to work independently yet collaboratively, and will be deliverable-focused, highly communicative, and deadline-driven.

Primary Responsibilities

Work directly with LIMS software partner for the design, configuration, testing and implementation of a cloud-based LIMS software. Following implementation, monitor vendor progress to optimize operational capabilities and uptime.

Develop and validate LIMS system interfaces to external Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) service provider and other external applications as needed

Facilitate lab instrument integration with LIMS software

Work directly with Lab Manager, Sr. Project Manager and Clinical Affairs Specialist to develop and present LIMS reports as needed

Serve as the laboratory’s LIMS system administrator and provide end user training to personnel

Troubleshoot issues with the system and interact with LIMS provider when necessary to develop solutions

Support the development and validation of an overall LIMS strategy to ensure the program is scalable and in alignment with business unit growth initiatives

Requirements for the role:

Education

Minimum Bachelor's degree in Biology, Science, Engineering, or Medical Technology (or equivalent)

Technical Skills and Expectations:

Minimum 5 years of experience implementing and supporting LIMS systems for life sciences labs or diagnostic labs with CLIA, CAP, ISO or ASHI accreditation preferred

Experience with Orchard LIMS software preferred, or other Cloud-based LIMS software

Knowledge of molecular, PCR, NGS, Mass Spec clinical workflows and molecular testing instruments

Ability to evaluate and comprehend raw PCR and NGS instrument output result data

Technical aptitude to comprehend and translate business requirements to create corresponding solution designs within the LIMS system

Knowledge of bioinformatics-based workflows preferred

Working knowledge of SQL databases preferred

Availability to work extended hours to meet deadlines, when necessary

Licenses and Certifications

LIMS Certification preferred
