The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.

AWS Field Experiences (AFX) Generative AI team is looking for a Machine Learning Engineer with experience in the design and development of scalable AI/ML, deep learning, and generative AI models, deep passion for building end-to-end products, strong ability to communicate scientific ideas and results, and a proven track record of executing complex projects while delivering high business impact.

The mission of the AFX Generative AI team is to build software tools that make our field teams much more effective in winning opportunities and generating revenue for AWS. Our field teams are knowledge workers who operate on complex data such as catalogs and documentation about AWS products and services. The tools and experiences we provide for the field teams surface the right information to drive decision making and engagement with each customer. Our tools deliver this targeted intelligence through conversational interactions, suggestions, personalized recommendations, and high quality shareable generated content.

As a Machine Learning Engineer (SDE) you will work on the design, development and improvement of AI/ML models and systems for various software products. In this role, you will be expected to:

  • Build novel system architectures that leverage Large Language Models (LLMs) and other forms of generative AI.

  • Design and build workflows and end-to-end pipelines for data preparation, model training, deployment, monitoring, etc., and ensure the quality of architecture to deliver the Generative AI solutions as scalable and performant fully featured products.

  • Work with product partners to design production at scale.

  • Deliver customer facing and/or underlying AI/ML solutions that empower AWS sellers to win in the marketplace of cloud software, services and solutions.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
