Job Title: Facilities Technician
Job Description
The Facilities Technician is responsible for the daily operation, maintenance, preventative maintenance, and repairs to a school in Boston. This includes but is not limited to carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and all other building systems.

Coordinating maintenance efforts with outside contractors and technicians
Ordering parts and maintaining stock and inventory control
Preparing and maintaining maintenance logs and records
Responding quickly and efficiently to emergency situations
Responding to staff complaints in areas of safety, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and environmental needs
Ensuring cleanliness and appearance of work areas
Participating in traffic control activities
Participating in setup, break down, and management of school events
Performing various landscaping duties including snow removal
Participating in a wide range of Facilities tasks
Job Type
This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).
Work Site
This is a fully on-site position in Boston, Massachusetts. Parking is limited; will reimburse MBTA cards 50%.
Work Environment
Private school with one building that has five connected editions, totaling 300,000 SQ FT. The building features both new construction and old architecture. The facility team consists of 8 people plus the Facility Manager. Work hours are 8am-4pm during the summer and 10am-6pm or 7am-3:30pm during the school season. The team uses the School Dude work order system and rotates on-call duties only during snow storms. Pay range is $27-31 per hour.
