Job Purpose

This role will enhance our operational processes through digital innovation, with a particular focus on the convergence of Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) within our manufacturing environment. This managerial position is essential for driving operational efficiency, agility, and quality across our manufacturing, supply chain, and logistics, and procurement functions. The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of manufacturing processes and digital technologies, leading a team of manufacturing system engineers and other specialists to blur the lines between IT and OT, thereby optimizing operational performance.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Operational Excellence Initiatives: Develop and lead initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency, quality, and agility through the integration of digital technologies and process optimization. Focus on areas where IT and OT converge to enhance manufacturing intelligence and connectivity.

  • Team Leadership : Manage and develop a team of manufacturing systems engineers and other operational experts, providing guidance and support to ensure projects and initiatives meet strategic objectives. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with IT, digital technology, and operational teams to ensure a cohesive approach to digital transformation within operations. Ensure that digital initiatives are aligned with overall operational goals and business strategies.

  • Technology Implementation and Management: Identify and implement appropriate digital solutions and technologies (e.g., IIoT, AI/ML, advanced analytics) that improve operational performance and decision-making. Oversee the integration of IT and OT systems to enhance manufacturing and operational processes.

  • Change Management: Lead change management efforts to ensure smooth adoption of new technologies and processes within operations. Develop and execute training programs to build digital skills and capabilities across the operational workforce.

  • Project Oversight : Manage a portfolio of projects related to operational excellence, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and achieve desired outcomes. Apply project management best practices to ensure successful project execution and delivery.

  • Performance Analysis: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to operational excellence initiatives. Utilize data-driven insights to make informed decisions and drive continuous improvement in operational practices.

Travel Requirements:

  • This role will have up to 50% domestic and international travel requirements.

People Leadership:

  • This role will be responsible for building a team and directly managing up to 3+ direct reports.

Knowledge / Skills / Experience

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Information Technology, Manufacturing, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in operational improvement projects, with a strong emphasis on digital transformation within a manufacturing or similar industrial environment is required.

  • Experience with enhancing supply chain efficiency, reducing logistics and transportation costs, better supplier terms, and minimizing disruptions is required.

  • Proven managerial experience, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role managing teams of technical professionals.

  • Strong understanding of both Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) in manufacturing environments, with a track record of effectively integrating the two.

  • Excellence in project management skills, with a history of successfully managing complex, cross-functional projects, and initiatives.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.

Pay Transparency (complete highlighted sections)

  • The salary range for this position is $115,800 - $144,700. Factors such as the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence the base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state) if authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
