Chewy Manager, Human Resources Data Management in Boston, Massachusetts
Our Opportunity:
Chewy is looking for a Manager, HR Data Management for one of our corporate sites. In this role you will serve as the subject matter expert in data management, including but not limited to data migration, data cleansing, data governance, data auditing, data quality, and data analysis work. This role will be responsible for developing the processes to manage the data within our HR systems to provide master data management, exception handling and audit support to the HR function. This role will also ensure data integrity, accuracy, and process automation. This team member will be instrumental in providing leadership for 2-4 direct reports.
What you’ll do:
Provide leadership, development, and supervision of the HR data analyst team
Lead the team to ensure data and processes accuracy, integrity, and quality; roadmap strategies and execution; talent development and engagement
Responsible for developing, optimizing, and managing Workday HR master data framework, governance, integrity, audit mechanisms, and governance protocols
Serve as the primary knowledge source of HR data dimensionality and relationship to downstream systems
Provide thought leadership and participate with projects that involve Workday HR data, while maintaining deep understanding of underlying business processes that impact data flow and cross-functional data usage
Research and analyze data to identify trends, uncover data discrepancies, potential opportunities and partnership areas with Talent Acquisition, HR Business Partners, and other functions to develop procedural or systemic resolutions
Maintains the data dictionary and integration mapping of all key fields and values of Workday HCM
Oversee the integration of data from multiple systems providing - retrieving, aggregation, proofing and auditing on headcount, organizational structure, and other key HR data points
Create processes and promote best practices to maintain and streamline data processes and increase efficiencies within HR community
Supports the team to performs group data updates, exports, imports (EIB uploads), clean-ups, and research/reports on any data discrepancies
Ensure daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual data audits are conducted timely and support Sox and Internal/External audit cycles
Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and support business’ new initiatives, programs or ventures
Coordinate and train the HR team - on how new/updated processes and data dimensions based on established best practices; as well as providing a direct response on relevant reporting requests
Act as primary contact for assigned function with outside organizations or other departments; responds to complex technical administrative questions and ensures necessary follow up, including troubleshooting issues and root cause analysis
Engage regularly in Workday online Community, submit brainstorms, keeping HR leadership abreast of relevant information
Ensure data privacy is maintained
Participate in special projects with staff as directed
Support change management and training activities

What you’ll need:
3-5 years’ experience managing a team
Bachelor’s degree with 5-7 years’ experience working with large-scale, complex datasets with an emphasis on data reporting and analytics, preferably in business operations or HR
Experience with Workday HCM foundational data, business process and position management
Experience with data quality and governance
Experience realizing solutions from conception and design to implementation and support
Experience in design, development, and implementation of highly scalable, high-volume software systems and components
Experience managing and leading teams with varied abilities and skill sets
Self-starter with proven ability to work within a team-oriented environment
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to adapt to frequent change
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects efficiently and effectively
Demonstrated ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
Demonstrated experience with Excel, Visio, MS Project (or equivalent) and PowerPoint
Good negotiation and facilitation skills
Project management skills
Position may require travel
