We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced manager to lead our technical accounting and financial reporting function. In this role, you’ll be a key financial professional responsible for ensuring compliance with accounting standards, implementing accounting policies, and providing technical expertise on complex accounting issues. The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams, external auditors, and senior management to maintain accurate financial reporting and uphold the integrity of financial information. Successful candidates will possess a combination of strong accounting and reporting knowledge and an ability to dive into unknown problems and devise creative solutions. This position will report to the Senior Director of Finance & Accounting and come with a broad range of responsibilities on a small team. The successful candidate will have a "roll-up-the-sleeves'' attitude, be able to multitask and be ready to thrive in a very fast-paced startup environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all aspects of technical accounting and financial reporting

• Lead implementation and execution of accounting policies and procedures following US GAAP

• Strong breadth and depth of knowledge and experience in stock-based compensation, foreign currency transactions, lease accounting, business combinations, cash flows, and software capitalization

• Oversee equity accounting, including coordination with legal and shareholder services

• Stay informed of emerging accounting pronouncements and ensure their timely adoption

• Advise on the accounting treatment and support project management of strategic transactions

• Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements for leadership, investors, and the board of directors

• Conduct financial analysis and offer assistance to investor relations in crafting earnings releases

• Act as a primary point of contact with external auditors during annual audit of the financial statements

• Proactively partner with legal, tax, FP&A, product and engineering to provide expertise in support of new transactions and evolving changes to the business to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes

• Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the financial reporting process

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting and CPA license

• 6+ years of accounting experience, ideally a blend of Big 4 public accounting and industry experience

• Significant experience in the technical accounting and financial reporting role

• In-depth knowledge of US GAAP and SEC rules and regulations

• IFRS experience preferred, although not required

• Proactive work ethic, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

• Strong organization, time management and project management skills

• Agility to work in a fast-paced, start-up environment

• Superior communication skills to effectively communicate complex accounting concepts

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

• Ability to work cross-functionally to obtain all relevant facts, understand the business requirements, articulate the accounting requirements and communicate the conclusions reached

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with NetSuite, Workiva and Schwab software preferred, although not required

• Advanced Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets skills required

• Project management and supervisory experience
