Our interns gain exposure to real projects while working side by side with senior staff. Our Strategic Growth Team is seeking a Senior Marketing Communications Intern to work out of any major US City in which WSP is present. This intern must be within a commutable distance of the office.

This position will work closely with the marketing communications team, which is responsible for the marketing and promoting of the company, our work and people. The team also work closely with regional and national leadership to develop and execute marketing plans aimed at building brand awareness and supporting client and pursuit positioning activities.

Under close supervision, the candidate would develop content for marketing collateral, technical documents or whitepapers, social media/advertising, website, industry visibility opportunities (conferences and events), internal communications and awards submittals.

Your Impact

  • Reads, evaluates and edits content for adherence to company styles, standards, and formats.

  • Drafts internal and external communications of a straightforward nature.

  • Gathers information to be used in articles, press releases and corporate correspondence.

  • Verifies facts and statistics to be used in various communications.

  • Proofreads articles for grammar and usage and recommends changes to the drafts done by others.

  • Supports the business needs of the marketing communications team.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

  • Please note that there is no relocation or housing assistance associated with this internship.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Actively enrolled in an accredited Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English, or related Master's or PhD program.

  • Demonstrated interest in Marketing and Communications, or related field, and have a strong desire to advance skills related to WSP’s work and projects.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Self-motivated with strong technical writing, analytical and communication skills.

  • Strong organizational skills .

  • Detail-oriented with an emphasis on quality work products.

  • The selected candidate must have the ability to work in the United States immediately.

  • Proficient in the foundational elements of writing – grammar, punctuation, consistency, accuracy and AP style – combined with a talent for crafting concise, meaningful, active and creative messaging.

  • Must be able to collaborate in a team oriented environment.

WSP Marketing Interns are paid between $16-23/hr depending on experience and location.
