The Marketing Specialist is responsible for optimizing the Mind Body Research Group at BIDMC's brand by supporting marketing plans and related events. The position will take part in various marketing projects and events on and off campus. This position will work closely with the Mind Body Research Group to determine and manage the best marketing channels, help recruit study participants and work with ad agencies and other vendors.

Job Description:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Implement marketing plans and make recommendations for BIDMC marketing Initiatives. Perform monthly marketing tracking management. (essential)

  • Assist in production of communications letters, internal communications, etc. (essential)

  • Support and develop website content. (essential)

  • Coordinate and ensure the success of Service Excellence Trainings.

  • Maintain Press Ganey Reporting. This includes the following: bring on new clients, ensure proper number of surveys are sent and returned, quarterly report distribution, preparation of monthly comments reports. (essential)

  • Participate in special events and community outreach programs such as health fairs, tradeshows, and open houses. (essential)

  • Run on-going initiatives and implements new programs. Identifies data trends. Problem resolution with vendors and practices. (essential)

  • Responsible for expense tracking and maintaining various program budgets. (essential)

  • Complete audits for various programs. Determine and implement system improvements. (essential)

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • 1-3 years related work experience required.

  • Experience with integrating social media and web tools with an organization's overall marketing and communications efforts.

  • Experience creating and buying print, broadcast and online marketing and advertising.

  • Proactive, understand the immediacy of deadlines and be willing to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent writing and editing skills. Advanced skills with Microsoft applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access and other web-based applications. May produce complex documents, perform analysis and maintain databases.

Independence of Action: Ability to follow precedents and procedures. May set priorities and organize work within general guidelines. Seeks assistance when confronted with difficult and/or unpredictable situations. Work progress is monitored by supervisor/manager.

Written Communications: Ability to summarize and communicate in English moderately complex information in varied written formats to internal and external customers.

Oral Communications: Ability to comprehend and communicate complex verbal information in English to medical center staff, patients, families and external customers.

Knowledge: Ability to demonstrate full working knowledge of standard concepts, practices, procedures and policies with the ability to use them in varied situations.

Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively in small teams to improve the operations of immediate work group by offering ideas, identifying issues, and respecting team members.

Customer Service: Ability to provide a high level of customer service to patients, visitors, staff and external customers in a professional, service-oriented, respectful manner using skills in active listening and problem solving. Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.

Social/Environmental Requirements:

Work requires close attention to task for work to be accurately completed. Intermittent breaks during the work day do not compromise the work.

Work is varied every day and the employee needs to be adaptable to respond to these changes and use independent judgment and manage priorities.

Sensory Requirements:

Physical Requirements:

Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Some elements of the job are sedentary, but the employee will be required to stand for periods of time or move throughout the hospital campus.

This job requires constant sitting, Fine Manipulation using both hands, Keyboard use.Rarely there may be Power Grasping using both hands, Pushing/Pulling using both hands.
