The Marketing Specialist is a key member of the content strategy team at CJP, responsible for planning, generating, and executing content strategies across CJP’s social media channels and digital properties, including JewishBoston.com, cjp.org, and FaceJewishHate.org. In this role, the Marketing Specialist will use their solid understanding of social and digital channels in partnership with the content strategy and digital marketing teams to get the right message to the right person at the right time.? The ideal candidate has a proven track record of creating and executing strategic social media programs and content to grow and engage online audiences. The Marketing Specialist will also work closely with CJP’s 200+ partner organizations to assist with the sharing of partner content and programs. This role involves producing and writing diverse content, including organic and paid social media posts, videos, short-form articles, and more.

Essential Functions:

  • Collaborate with the Director of Content Strategy and the Senior Content Strategy Manager to support the implementation of a cross-channel, cross-platform content and promotional calendar that best supports key CJP initiatives and programs.

  • Identify opportunities for potential high-traffic content based on social media engagement, upcoming and current events, holidays, emerging trends, and previous successful campaigns.

  • Optimize digital channel usage across social, web, video, and search.

  • Align content themes and assets to the needs of target audiences to increase awareness, campaign effectiveness, and lead generation.

  • Collaborate with the Director of Content Strategy and the Senior Content Strategy Manager to develop, manage, and execute social media campaigns to increase brand awareness, generate inbound traffic and engagement, and grow donor acquisition.

  • Maintain and grow CJP’s presence on social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, Threads, YouTube, and TikTok, and other strategically relevant online properties. Engage in dialogue and answer questions where appropriate.

  • Launch and manage CJP’s employee social media advocacy program.

  • Manage online advertising campaigns for Meta and Google in collaboration with the digital marketing team.

  • Monitor and report on the impact of social media programs, analyzing and optimizing campaign effectiveness.

  • Attend select CJP and other community events (at least three per month) throughout the year (including during the workday, after hours, or on weekends) to capture and live-post social media content.

  • Work in partnership with the strategy marketing team and collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize, produce, and execute content-led programs that build brand and program awareness.

  • Provide recommendations on content and channels that measurably drive to specific programs and outcomes.

  • Continuously test and optimize to deliver on individual program goals.

  • Serve as a liaison and primary point of contact to CJP’s 200+ partner organizations via JewishBoston.com. Provide guidance and assistance with producing and publishing compelling content, event listings, and organization pages that drive engagement and conversions, and support CJP and partner initiatives.?

  • Help partners determine the best content platform/channel/medium to drive deeper community connection.?

  • As needed, pitch, draft, edit, and produce compelling content and stories across diverse formats and channels, including social media posts, videos, infographics, long-form articles, etc.

  • Answer technical support and general questions via phone, email, and social media from organizations and other site users.

  • Work within CJP’s CMS platforms to edit, monitor, build, and publish content, coordinating with stakeholders as needed.

  • Perform original research and regular reviews of other publications to determine what topics, trends, and stories may be of interest to CJP’s audiences. Make recommendations based on research.

  • Partner with the content strategy and comms teams to proactively respond to crisis communications requests after hours or on weekends when needed. This may include social media posting, content creation, and website updates.

Requirements

Education:

  • BS/BA in Marketing, Business, Communications, Journalism, or another related area of study

Experience:

  • 2-3 years related work experience in marketing or communications

Skills/Competencies:

  • Excellent writer with strong verbal and presentation skills

  • Strategic and creative thinker

  • Experience capturing and editing video for social media

  • Experience in creating user-centered programs/content

  • Good technical understanding and can pick up new tools quickly

  • Understanding of SEO

  • Detail-oriented with strong interpersonal, organizational, time management, and project management skills

  • Ability to work individually on a project or in a team environment

  • Creativity, resourcefulness, and capacity for innovation

  • Outcome mindset

  • Desire and willingness to learn and grow

  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator, a plus

  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changes and shifting priorities

Working Conditions:

  • Hybrid Work Schedule: Tuesdays and Wednesdays in office work is required; Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays remote work option applies.

  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods, much of which will be working at a computer.

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
