MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST - PER DIEM

Job Description:

Medical Laboratory Technologist Generalist - Per Diem

  • Performs and results all automated and manual Chemistry procedures and blood gas testing, including the ability to troubleshoot Chemistry instruments.

  • Performs and results all automated and manual Hematology and Coagulation procedures including CBC’s with differentials, body fluid analysis, including crystals, cell counts and differentials. Has the ability to troubleshoot and maintain all Hematology instruments.

  • Performs crossmatching and antibody screening in Blood Bank, issues blood

  • Organizational skills: Organizes work during heavy workloads being able to multi-task to expedite patient care.

  • Communication skills: Notes critical results, calling results in the proper time frame. Maintains open communication with physicians, nursing staff and co-workers. Consults with supervisor if needed to resolve technical problems that may arise

  • Maintains all appropriate competencies and continuing education requirements.

  • Performs all quality control and participates in proficiency testing.

  • Education requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Medical technology or Biological Science.

  • MT(ASCP) certification or eligibility required

  • New graduates are welcome
