Commonwealth Care Alliance Microsoft 365 Engineer in Boston, Massachusetts

Why This Role is Important to Us:

Position Summary:

The Senior Microsoft 365 Engineer will work closely with the infrastructure teams, Security and Compliance teams and vendors to ensure the optimal performance, security, and compliance of the Microsoft 365 environment. The incumbent will work to design, implement, and provide lifecycle support for infrastructure solutions in a sustainable, supported, cost effective and reliable approach across different technologies.

This role will be responsible for providing the systems administration and engineering for all facets of Microsoft 365. The incumbent will work with business stakeholders, Cybersecurity and Infrastructure teams to ensure the optimal performance, security, and compliance of the Microsoft 365 environments: M365 Office Suite, Teams and Team App Integration, SharePoint Online, Power Platforms (Specifically PowerApps, Power Automate, & Power BI), OneDrive & Defender for Endpoint.

Supervision Exercised:

  • No, this position does not have direct reports.

What You'll Be Doing:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide engineering and administrative support for the assigned areas (M365 Services, Exchange Online, Entra, SharePoint Online, MS Teams, Power Platform, etc.)

  • Engineer must adhere to all security best practices ensuring remediating all vulnerabilities within the Messaging and Active Directory services.

  • Engineer must perform deployments and continuous improvement with the M365 & Entra services ensuring all development is tested, and documented before releases are deployed in production.

  • Maintains update to patching of the services ensuring keeping the security posture within acceptable range.

  • Recognize automation opportunities within our M365 ecosystem and create scripts to put these solutions into action.

  • Continued efforts in providing the legal team with assistance in areas of eDiscovery and other legal functions within the M365 space.

  • Engineer will provide Azure cloud technology support.

  • Provides troubleshooting expertise within the space to ensure resolution in a timely manner.

  • Responsible for building, configuring, maintaining, and documenting IT infrastructure.

  • Participate in the infrastructure architecture governance model.

  • Research and evaluate emerging M365 technologies as they become available and coach and mentor team members on the upcoming or new changes.

What We're Looking For:

Required Education (must have):

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

Desired Education (nice to have):

  • Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP)

  • Expert level experience and/or certification for Microsoft business products (o365, AAD, Teams, etc.)

  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert

Required Experience (must have):

  • 7 years of experience in Microsoft 365 architecture, design, and implementation.

  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft 365 products and services, such as Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, Power Platform, etc.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience utilizing Azure services including designing and implementing cloud solutions using Microsoft Azure services, such as Entra, Azure App Service, etc.

  • Experience in enterprise design and implementation of collaboration solutions using Microsoft 365 products and services, such as Teams, SharePoint, Exchange, OneDrive, and Power Platform.

  • Experience in security and compliance of the Microsoft 365 environment and implement appropriate policies and controls.

  • Experience in documenting solutions and provide training and knowledge transfer to the stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in Entra Identity and Access Management

  • Experience using PowerShell and other scripting tools

  • Working knowledge SSO, Azure MFA and Conditional Access technology

  • Engineer will provide Azure cloud technology support

  • Implement proactive monitoring and automation: tools/scripting to automate tasks, enhance and simplify support and proactively address issues to minimize business impacts

  • Attention to detail and excellent troubleshooting and problem-resolution skills

  • Ability to adhere to and meet deliverables following strict service level agreements

  • Flexibility to think strategically as well as provide hands-on assistance and to support the organization in rapidly evolving requirements

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Desire and willingness to work in a collaborative, innovative, flexible and team-oriented environment

  • Ability to work calmly and constructively under pressure and meet deadlines; the ability to manage and keep track of multiple tasks simultaneously

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (must have):

  • Experience in delivering business solutions on Microsoft 365 with expertise related to the following technologies: M365 Office Suite, Teams and Team App Integration, SharePoint Online, Power Platforms (Specifically PowerApps, Power Automate, & PowerBI), OneDrive & Defender for Endpoint.
