Within the CFO Financial Planning and Analysis group, the Capital Analytics team forecasts long-term capital and income to inform strategic decision-making at the enterprise level.
Capital management is a critical financial management function for MassMutual. This role offers visibility into company strategy, risk-return tradeoff decisions, investment strategy decisions, and risk management actions.
This individual contributor role will develop, enhance, and use company-level capital models.
Maintain and Modify existing capital model, and run it on short notice to answer questions from senior leaders
Develop long-term forecast models for repeated use in evaluating strategy and progress in implementing strategies– currently focusing on GAAP income
Develop and run ad hoc models for strategic decision-making, such as comparison models of RBC and income for specific assets
Work with business partners to source and supply information and insights, such as expected profit patterns by product and allocated statutory capital by business
ASA, CPA, or equivalent experience producing a conceptual understanding of capital and earnings
Strong Excel model-building skills for of financial statement forecasts
Model maintenance skills, focusing on clarity, efficiency and adaptability, and including experience with model governance
Prompt, clear analyses in response to questions
Effective networking skills to gather and share information and meet business needs
Must be eligible to work in the United State without sponsorship now or in the future
Location is Boston, with occasional travel to Springfield.
8+ years of relevant experience.
Knowledge of insurance accounting and the key differences between statutory and GAAP bases
Experience synthesizing results into effective presentations to executives
Effective communication with stakeholders at all levels
