The IBM CIO is searching for a talented Motion Designer to join our CIO Design team in providing IBMers with a great User Experience for our internal solutions. We drive excellence in employee solutions by successfully merging business and user goals, creating solutions that deliver intuitive user interfaces that increase adoption and drive business success. In this role, you will work closely with stakeholders and other talented creative professionals as part of a multidisciplinary team to create engaging content for the Global IBM user audience.
As a Motion Designer, you will create compelling, high-quality videos for internal broadcast. You should be a detail-oriented, self-starter who will raise the bar for our animated content. When working with project teams, you may be expected to act as lead and direct others as needed. The successful candidate will be involved in each project from storyboarding through to design, animation, and publication. You will work closely with visual designers and other motion designers to create an engaging experience for viewers and ensure a standard of excellence. This role operates in a fast-paced work environment with quick turn-arounds. The successful candidate will be a team player who enjoys working in an ever-evolving environment.
The focus of the Motion Designer / Animator is to:
Create visually appealing motion graphics and animations to tell a story in a comprehensive way
Work comfortably designing and animating in both 2D and 3D
Use text and images in a creative, engaging, and imaginative way
Follow and enhance current motion standards
Work in tandem with project teams to ensure accurate delivery of final product

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
3+ years working professionally as a motion designer or animator, or demonstration of equivalent skill level
Advanced knowledge of After Effects
Demonstrated knowledge of Illustrator, Photoshop and other design tools to aid in the creation and manipulation of assets
Deep understanding of design and typography best practices
Ability to manage multiple projects and remain flexible through multiple revisions, while maintaining attention to detail
Solid understanding of usability and user-centric design
Ability to accept direction and constructive critique
Portfolio and/or demo reel of previous projects
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
Experience with 3D modeling and animation tools such as C4D or Blender
Experience with animation and motion design patterns within a product UI
Photography, videography, and video editing skills
Knowledge of Adobe Character Animator
