State of Massachusetts Motor Truck Driver in Boston, Massachusetts
The Lemuel Shattuck Hospital (LSH) is seeking a dedicated Motor Truck Driver to join our transportation services team. The incumbent would operate motor trucks and passenger buses to transport passengers, materials, and equipment. /_Schedule:_///(Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday 11:00am-7:30pm)(Thursday, Friday 3:30pm-12:00am) /_Duties and Responsibilities (these duties are a general summary and not all inclusive):_/ * Operates motor vehicles such as station wagons, passenger automobiles, panel trucks, etc. to transport persons and/or materials to designated locations. * Provides minor preventative maintenance to motor vehicles such as checking tire pressure and battery, oil, gas, and water levels. * Contacts appropriate individual for motor vehicle repair and/or maintenance. * Maintains records and prepares reports on such matters as vehicle use, mileage, destinations, accidents, repairs, gas, and other vehicle expenses. * Performs related duties such as loading and unloading furniture, equipment and supplies, picking up mail, supplies, etc. * Performs other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor. /_Required Qualifications:_/ * Possession of a Class B CDL license with passenger endorsement. * Understands the state laws, rules and regulations and safety practices governing motor vehicle operations. * Knowledge of the types, characteristics, and uses of motor trucks. * Experience with preventative maintenance procedures relative to motor trucks. * Skilled in the operation of heavy motor trucks, and other motor vehicles such as automobiles, passenger buses, panel trucks, vans, station wagons, etc. * Ability to understand and apply the laws, rules and regulations governing assigned unit activities. * Read road maps and utilize a GPS * Can read, write, and comprehend the English language. * Competently follow oral and written instructions. * Maintains accurate records. * Ability to exercise sound judgment. * Can lift and carry heavy objects. /_Preferred Qualifications:_/ * Operates computer software programs effectively, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, in order to maintain records, data bases, and communications. * Familiar of state laws, procedures, and guidelines. * Previously worked in hospital campus environment. * Knowledge of the types and application of standard office filing systems. /_About the Lemuel Shattuck Hospital:_/ Lemuel Shattuck Hospital is a fully Joint Commission accredited teaching facility that provides acute, subacute, and ambulatory care to patients referred by public agencies and private sector providers. Shattuck Hospital’s services help economically and socially disadvantaged patients to get high quality, cost-effective care from a staff that respects their dignity. Located in the heart of Boston’s Jamaica Plain neighborhood, the Shattuck Hospital includes 248 inpatient beds including 95 Psychiatric beds and 29 Correctional Health beds. In addition, the Shattuck has a full outpatient clinic with many specialties that offers treatment to patients of the Department of Mental Health as well as Department of Correction and House of Correction inmates and community patients. The Shattuck hospital is on the forefront of substance use disorder treatment including a Suboxone clinic serving 200 patients.
