Suffolk is looking for a National Forensic Planning Manager (Sr. Scheduler) to prepare and present time impact analysis for construction delay claims. This senior position reports to the Planning Director and is responsible for providing direct support to field operations teams in preparing delay and disruption analysis for the purpose of resolving construction delays on multiple projects in the US. The successful candidate will have proven experience in scheduling complex, multi-phase, multi-million-dollar vertical construction and/or renovation projects.
Candidate must exhibit senior level forensic scheduling experience for similar size projects over $250 Million with an emphasis on currently recognized recommended forensic practices. The position requires at least ten (10) years prior experience as a scheduler; with five (5) years directly related to schedule analysis. Willing to travel to US project locations to gather information and work with project teams.
Review Planning Dashboards to identify projects at risk with unresolved delays lingering over 3 months.
Provide investigation of project delays: Prepare prospective and retrospective delay analyses across a wide variety of construction projects. This will include the assimilation of technical information along with evidence of delays and the presentation of information in both visual diagrams and reports
Prepare delay analysis & time extension requests utilizing AACE Recommended Practice 29R-03 "Forensic Schedule Analysis.
Provides support to project teams in assessing/documenting delays and impacts, alternate work plans and methods of construction. Provides support to project teams when delay(s) have been determined. Propose schedule recovery alternatives and mitigation strategies.
Review third-party comments on construction schedules and provide written responses and participate in third-party schedule reviews.
Prepare concise schedule narratives describing the status of project delays.
Standardize corporate reporting for causation, quantification, concurrencies, and apointment of delay days on critical and near critical paths affecting contractual milestones
Reconcile discrepancies from actual vs. planned progress and facilitate an action plan with the project team
Prepare concise schedule narratives describing the status of project delays.
The position requires at least ten (10) years prior experience as a scheduler; with five (5) years directly related to claims analysis.
Have relevant experience in preparation and submission of time impact analysis for construction claims, and dispute resolution.
Demonstrated experience in scheduling construction of large-scale, complex projects; including developing and managing a progress reporting methodology for a complicated construction effort.
Experience with vertical construction is desirable.
Demonstrated ability to understand a demanding, technical, and complicated construction program; and the ability to communicate progress and issues to a technical- and management-level audience.
Ability to communicate and present complex schedule analytics into a concise format to owners and stakeholders.
Demonstrated experience with Primavera Project Planner Version 6.0 or higher is required.
Experience with large-scale construction management type software such as Procore, Deltek Acumen Fuse, and Schedule Analyzer is desirable.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is required.
Experience with Adobe Acrobat is required.
Ability to work with others, a self-starter with results-driven focus.
Capability to assume additional planning managerial responsibilities for projects nationally.
Proven accuracy, reliability, and completeness in job accomplishment.
Demonstrated success on the job, as evidenced by satisfactory performance, acceptance of responsibility and growth in previous position.
Effective oral and written communication skills, with an ability to communicate complex issues to a non-technical audience.
A certification in Planning and Scheduling either PMP or any AACE certification is preferred.
Expert in Time Impact Analysis (TIA), Contemporary Period Analysis, Window Analysis, As-built vs As-Planned, and Collapsed As-built methodologies for delay quantum.
Overnight travel to US project locations to gather informationfor time impact analysis and work with project teams
