State of Massachusetts Occupational Therapist I in Boston, Massachusetts

Join a cohesive and dedicated Psychiatric Rehabilitation Team at the Dr. Solomon Carter Fuller Mental Health Center in Boston, MA. Incumbents of this Occupational Therapist I position will have the opportunity to work as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team that provides active treatment to adults on an inpatient unit as they undergo forensic evaluation. Daily collaboration, support, and teamwork are just a few processes within our Rehab Department that foster a successful and rewarding professional experience. _Please note:_ This is a sick leave coverage position. 40 hours per week, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Days off are Saturday and Sunday. /_Duties and Responsibilities (these are a general summary and not all inclusive):_/_ * Performs all aspects of the occupational therapy process to adults as part of their mental health recovery. * Develops goals and plans of treatment while providing recurring input into treatment plans and team meetings. * Provides therapeutic activities in group and individual interventions. * Completes all documentation on a timely basis and accurate manner while remaining adherent to billing procedures. * Works collaborative with Rehab Team as well as multidisciplinary treatment teams. * Follows the principles of trauma-informed care and restraint and seclusion reduction including use of sensory integration interventions. * Remains focused on a positive outcome and is able to manage conflict in an appropriate and professional manner. *Preferred Qualifications* * Experience providing the full spectrum of occupational therapy services in a mental health setting. */Agency Mission:/* The Dr. Solomon Carter Fuller Mental Health Center is a 60-bed inpatient psychiatric facility that provides comprehensive and timely forensic evaluations for individuals to determine pre-trial competency and or criminal responsibility.
