Dana-Farber Cancer Institute Pediatric Project Manager - Specimen-Based Research in Boston, Massachusetts

The Project Manager will work within the Dana-Farber/Boston Children’s Cancer and Blood Disorders Center’s Clinical and Translational Investigation Program (CTIP) to facilitate banking and specimen-based research activities. Key responsibilities will include:
Working with informatics team and research coordinators to unify the approach to dashboard of samples-based research across CTIP programs, including sample status, utilization, and annotation;
Managing the technical aspects of sample-based research including process improvements to increase sample quality, identifying and evaluating vendors utilized for assays, assessing and fulfilling needs of collaborators and investigators;
Partnering with CTIP clinical research managers (CRMs) and coordinators (CRCs) involved with specimen-based research to review and develop protocol documents relevant to prospective specimen-based research and to monitor compliance with institutional policies and best practice for specimen-based research;
Facilitate investigator access to samples and sample derivatives for approved research projects;
Develop relationships with programs throughout the Longwood Medical Area to support specimen-based research efforts within Pediatric Hematology-Oncology; and assist CRMs in establishing Materials Transfer Agreements (MTA) and Data Usage Agreements (DUAs) when applicable
The successful candidate will have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in the biological sciences; Master's preferred. Candidate will also have prior wet laboratory experience and/or human tissue handling/processing experience. Key skills and prior experience include:
Specimen-based laboratory research, banking and/or clinical testing experience;
Experience with database and/or LIMS software;
Interaction with core laboratories and pathology laboratories
Reporting Structure: Although this manager will support all CTIP programs, this manager will report to the Clinical Research Manager for the solid tumor program who currently has the largest portfolio of specimen-based research projects and expertise in banking.
