This Per Diem Radiographer will be responsible for:

Examinations/Procedures:

  • Reviewing and evaluating requisitions for Diagnostic imaging procedures, abstracting data from patient charts and determining appropriateness of procedure prescribed given diagnosis and clinical signs for routine examinations

  • Identifying patients according to Hospital Policy with 2 identifiers.

  • Selecting appropriate equipment and technical factors to identify pathologic and normal anatomy.

  • Assessing patients' and parents' physical and emotional status and ability to respond to instructions and develop a care plan for that patients' specific needs.

  • Explaining the examination and is able to answer questions from patient and parents regarding the exam and Radiation exposure, practices ALARA.

  • Following Departmental QC/Data Integrity Workflow.

  • Practicing High Reliability Training.

Patient/Family Relations:

  • Responding to the uniqueness of the patient, creating a supportive environment for the patient and the family.

Equipment:

  • Identifying and reporting equipment malfunctions through the INeedit application.

Operations:

  • Assisting in organizing and maintaining daily operations.

General:

  • Participating in departmental and hospital meetings.

  • Completing all required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.

To qualify, you must have:

Subject-matter knowledge:

  • Knowledgeable in operating equipment in the following areas; plain films, portable imaging and fluoroscopy in the operating room and fluoroscopy suite.

  • Knowledgeable in positioning techniques to obtain diagnostic imaging.

  • Knowledgeable of Radiologic safety, cleanliness and Infection control policies and regulations.

Interpersonal skills:

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

  • Provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations.

Systems skills:

  • Proficient in all Radiology applications; Citrix, Radnet, powerchart, Allocade, Radstar, Radboard and commonly used computer programs.
