The Philanthropy Coordinator is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations for the Patient Navigation Office within the Department of Philanthropy. The incumbent will provide administrative support to the Assistant VP and Associate Director. Involves interaction and communication with diverse populations including the public, internal staff at all levels, as well as external constituents including, but not limited to, hospital presidents, board members, supporters, community and volunteer leaders. Access to confidential patient information requires strict confidentiality, discretion and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Requires utmost professionalism and diplomacy.

Job Description:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to:

  1. Answers and screens telephone calls, taking clear and detailed messages, triaging requests and issues appropriately.

  2. Responds to requests in a timely manner and provides clear and accurate information within scope of knowledge and authority.

  3. Manages Patient Navigation (PN) case entry in Raisers’ Edge, running activity and metric reports as needed.

  4. Maintains inventory of office supplies and patient amenities/gifts.

  5. Maintains PN flagging uploads in Epic on a monthly basis for all levels.

  6. Manages Board Parking program, including running usage reports and tracking monthly/quarterly cost.

  7. May represent the office and the hospital at events when needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

• Associate’s degree required. Bachelor's degree preferred.

Licensure, Certification & Registration:

• N/A

Experience:

• 1-3 years’ related work experience required.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

• Approaches work with a positive attitude.

• Requires strong project and time management skills.

• Must be detail-oriented and timely with work.

• Ability to provide a high level of customer service in professional and respectful manner using skills in active listening and problem solving.

• Ability to remain calm and diplomatic in stressful situations.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

• Customer service oriented

• Healthcare or patient care environment

Dept/Unit Specific Skills:

• Advanced skills with Microsoft applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access and other web-based applications.

• May produce complex documents, perform analysis and maintain databases.

• Raiser’s Edge and Epic experience (preferred, but will train)
