Mine large data sets using sophisticated data analytical techniques to generate insights and inform business decisions. Develop new models to predict the likelihood of a future outcome and to optimize business solutions. Build upon existing models to improve functionality and optimize existing methods. Research and develop new modeling techniques or predictive analytic solutions. Translate quantitative analyses and findings into accessible visuals for non-technical audiences, providing a clear view into interpreting the data. Identify and test hypotheses for code optimization or model and process improvement. Ensure statistical significance and practical implementation. Use analytical techniques to establish relationships between model results and business operations. Provide stakeholders with actionable takeaways and a reasonable view into likely next steps. Responsible for smaller components of cross-functional projects with moderate-to-high complexity. Lead collaboration with business partners to develop predictive analytic solutions that enable data-driven strategic decision-making. Leverage knowledge to independently create and design solutions for business needs. Regularly engage with the data science community and participate in cross-functional working groups.

The position requires a PhD degree or foreign equivalent in Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field in the sciences with a focus on quantitative analysis, PLUS one (1) year of experience in the job offered, as a Research Assistant, or in a related occupation. The position requires demonstrable experience with each of the following: predictive analytic techniques and strong knowledge of the theoretical foundation underlying predictive modeling techniques, including generalized linear models, and strong knowledge of machine learning techniques; unstructured data analysis, using techniques such as term frequency-inverse document frequency, latent Dirichlet allocation, or natural language processing; statistical diagnostics of models, including exploratory data analysis and standard diagnostics of model performance, including goodness-of-fit, accuracy metrics, or sensitivity metrics; predictive toolsets and tool development, including SAS, R, or Python; and advanced visualization tools, such as Tableau, Power BI, or R Shiny.
