Digital Security and Resilience (DSR) is looking for a Principal Technical Program Manager to identify areas of opportunity and drive improvements for securing Microsoft Digital’s software supply chain. As part of a high impact security team, you will lead and work across the Microsoft Digital organization and other divisions to raise the bar for protecting the enterprise.

In this role, you will own the overall strategy and program to drive high priority projects for augmenting the security of Microsoft’s Digital software supply chain. You will also lead efforts to bring alignment on standards, processes, and technologies used to secure the software supply chain across all of Microsoft. You will identify systemic areas of opportunity, define plans to close gaps, and gain buy-in from leaders across Microsoft to execute plans. You will push for automation and drive towards secure by default environments. Along the way, you will be a trusted voice who shares your knowledge and expertise.

Key responsibilities:

  • Define the overall strategy for securing the software supply chain and gain cross organizational alignment to said strategy.

  • Define clear objectives and key results (OKRs) and apply excellent project/program management to drive clarity and accountability for complex collaboration efforts across multiple organizations.

  • Drive commitment and alignment of OKRs with executing teams and individuals across Microsoft.

  • Define and maintain project plans and associated milestones in alignment with OKRs.

  • Lead planning, coordination, and execution of critical technical projects to augment the security of Microsoft’s enterprise software supply chain.

  • Leverage your technical expertise to proactively engage with security teams across Microsoft, identify duplicate efforts and dependencies, and drive alignment and commitments through influence.

  • Report overall progress on regular cadence and be ready to report/present accurate progress on short notice to senior leaders.

  • Mentor other Program Managers within the team.

  • Be a self-starter and comfortable working in ambiguous environments while keeping shared goals in mind with a collaborative and curious mindset.

  • Track project work progress thoroughly on a timely basis.

  • Be a strategic thinker while communicating transparently, effectively, and persuasively across a wide range of technical and non-technical audiences.


Knowledge, experience and skills required:

  • 8+ years of experience in a technical program management or similar role.

  • 6+ years of experience managing complex technical projects across organizations.

  • 3+ years of experiencein cybersecurity fieldand/orSecure Development Lifecycle

Preferred, not required:

  • Understanding or experience with deployment of Cloud Services and/orpipelines in Azure DevOps and/or GitHub.

  • General understanding of cybersecurity standards.

  • Experience analyzing and distilling data into actionable insights for engineering.

  • Proven experience dealing with ambiguity, being a self-starter, and showing bias for action.

  • Proven technical background and experience working with engineering teams.

  • Proven ability to lead multiple concurrent projects/workstreams in a fast-paced environment.

  • Extensive leadership skills, including the ability to influence without authority and collaborate effectively across multiple business groups with clear intent.

  • Excellent judgment, decision making skills, and ability to work with deadlines.

  • Excellent writing and communication skills with ability to adapt for technical and non-technical audience.

  • Excellent presentation skills and experience presenting to senior management and executive levels.
