What You'll Do Here:
The Product Assistant (PA) touches virtually every functional area of the organization by providing direct, day-to-day support to product teams within his/her discipline(s).) This person will provide a wide variety of services to Product Manager(s) in order to optimize the performance of the product management and development effort and, thereby, help achieve the group's business goals. In addition to supporting the Product Teams, the PA will also apprentice on projects in several different areas including: Product Development, Product Management, Market Seeding, and Project Management over the course of their time in the role.
This Product Assistant role is on the Boston-based Art and Philosophy Team.
Provides general administrative support. The assistant will support the Product Team by performing basic administrative tasks, managing the reviewing process, processing invoices, creating basic P&L proposals, providing overall product and customer database maintenance, providing budget tracking information, and processing contract and reprint requests.
Answers queries and correspondence with authors, customers and other internal stakeholders as necessary in a timely and professional manner.
Maintains filing and records management systems and other office procedures pertaining market research, product information, project files, 3rd party prospect files, and customer feedback.
Preparation of all documents needed for meetings across the assigned product teams including PSR's, Strategy Meetings, Production Launches, and digital road-mapping.
Prepares and distributes research results and project status updates, and other documents pertaining to product management functions, assuring accuracy and working efficiently for each deliverable.
Performs other duties as assigned or as judgment or necessity dictates.
Coordinates and conducts market research efforts such as surveys, reviews, focus groups, student diaries, advisory panel meetings, webinars, and completes the analysis or summary of the research gathered.
Executes competitive market research as needed such as competitive benchmarking, pricing and summarizing competitive products.
Maintains competitive grids by market for key titles/features/assets. Focuses on key information such as competitive cycles by publisher, quantitative summaries of competitive product assets by online asset type.
Develops additional market understanding through phone interviews, web-based or face-to-face with students and faculty.

- Provides sales and marketing team members with priority information upon request.
Skills You Will Need Here:
Proficiency in computer applications such as, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation tools, and database
Possesses a strong background in written and numerical accuracy
Strong orientation to detail work and follow-through
Possess excellent time management and organizational skills
Work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Demonstrated ability to take initiative and follow project through to conclusion autonomously
Analytic problem-solving background, experience utilizing spreadsheets to interpret data
Basic customer-facing or sales experience
