Product Designer

Our Fortune 100 insurance client is looking for Product Designers to join their team for a long-term contract. In this role, you will design and develop components within an internal enterprise design system. You will create user-centered design solutions for the customer experience that feature ease of use, employ best-in-class interaction design, clean and performant code, and optimize the user experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Focus on the design and development of an internal Design System

  • Take design feedback from other UX professionals working in the space

  • Advocate for customer, both internally, and externally

  • Ensure that the look, feel, layout and interaction details of your products meet customer needs and deliver against business objectives

  • Work with team leadership and external functions to ensure corporate communication and brand standards are met

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Human Factors, or relevant discipline

  • 5+ years of product design and development experience

  • Experience using methodologies such as Agile, Design Thinking, Lean UX, and Lean Startup

  • Demonstrated expertise in UX design, as well as familiarity with prototyping, user research and/or test design

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Expert knowledge of web graphics applications (including Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite)

  • Solid understanding of information architecture, usability, and UX practices

  • Experience with rapid prototyping using tools such as Axure or Invision

  • Expertise in mobile and responsive web design

  • Critical thinking skills and high EQ

  • Excellent design skills - typography, use of white space, color, grid systems; able to detail design/work process

  • Experience working with business and development teams in an Agile environment

  • Proven ability to present projects and status reports to Leads

  • Strong organization and analytic thinking skills, with ability to translate moderately complex content into user scenarios, flows and diagrams

  • Proven track record of collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
