Job Description

Lead the design, execution, and summary of testing within the Grooming Research Center. This requires the applicant to train/direct contract staff as well as build expertise in Sensory methodology. Contributes to experimental design and conducts detailed analysis and summary of research and experimentation. Independently execute all aspects of routine consumer research study placement and documentation. In this role you will be the main point of contact for Products Researchers looking to answer business questions through the use of the Grooming Research Center.

  • Partnering closely with Sensory Scientist to learn and deliver data & insights to PR Partners.

  • Use own knowledge and team experience to enable faster, better, and more reliable methods, trends, and data to help build the Sensory capability.

  • Ability to learn R&D Systems such as, Enovia, Nexus, EyeQuestion, JMP, R&D SOPs and Study Placement Process & Systems, etc. as well as efficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, & Power Point.

  • Effective management of business priorities and timelines, with a sense of urgency.

  • Developing key partnerships with PR project teams and Sensory to proactively grow the Grooming business and sensory capability.

This role requires applicant to be on site 5 days/week (5:30AM start time) in order to manage panels.

Job Qualifications

Technical Mastery: Awareness/willing to learn current trends, contractor rules, and norms of the Grooming Category. Not required, but desired are PR skills that show passion for sensory science and awareness of PR methods and systems to enable efficiency in role and ability to translate sensory insights.

Innovate for Growth: Comfortable experimenting with new ideas that lead to method development and/or meaningful insights. Applicant should have a passion for learning, understanding how products work and a desire to be part of the process to make grooming products better.

Leadership Skills: Ability to balance multiple priorities, while maintaining the scientific integrity of the research. A successful leader in this role must effectively 1) lead panelists through methods training and implementation, 2) be able to trouble shoot contractor, business partner, and technical issues, 3) demonstrate stewardship of the sensory science, 4) champion new and better ways to achieve project objectives, 5) assess and communicate risks associated with different choices to enable the team to make decisions, and have 6) strong attention to detail.

Collaboration: This role requires an ability to be a strong collaborator who can effectively work with with diverse groups and skill levels.

Agility and “Can Do” Attitude: You will have a broad range of projects and will need to be flexible to to make efficient use of resources, contractors, and personal capacity to deliver on the business priorities.

Operates with Discipline: Ability to learn and then train others on standardized protocols for shaving. A successful candidate must be able to demonstrate a track record of applying attention to detail, operating with a sense of urgency, with the end result in mind.

Independence: Demonstrated ability to work independently making day-to-day decisions within the framework of project needs (timelines, constraints, expectations). Leveraging daily and technical coaches and mentors, as needed.

*Early mornings and onsite work are required in the position.
