The vision of the program is to transform research and healthcare delivery—through a combination of research, education, and advocacy—to include and prioritize individuals who communicate in languages other than English. A core guiding principle of the program is that language should be a strength, not a barrier, and that empowering communities through linguistic inclusion can lead to higher quality, safer, and more equitable care for all. This position is fully in-office.

The Program Administration Manager I will be responsible for:

  • Managing implementation of program goals and objectives

  • Preparing budget proposals; controlling expenditures in accordance with budget allocations; helping obtain additional grant and philanthropic funding

  • Managing project scope and timeline; managing project issues and risks

  • Managing, selecting, training, evaluating, and managing program staff for effectiveness and efficiency

  • Performing needs assessments, evaluating and analyzing program effectiveness; implementing procedures to ensure efficiency and accuracy to fulfill the program mission

  • Providing technical advice, policy interpretation, and guidance for applying appropriate procedures to staff, students, and administrators

  • Developing and facilitating or overseeing the development and facilitation of workshops, seminars, and orientations

  • Developing informational flyers, internal forms, and various materials to facilitate unit or department programs and services

  • Interacting and maintaining liaison with staff, faculty, and outside/community agencies in facilitating program objectives

  • Overseeing communication and dissemination of program activities, including program website and social media

The Program Administration Manager will oversee the following program activities:

(1) Establishing a multilingual translation and cultural adaptation collaborative to support researchers and clinicians in effective translation

(2) Creating a library of translated research and clinical materials

(3) Conducting language equity focused research

(4) Mentoring local and national research projects to advance language equity

(5) Publishing scholarship focused on language equity

(6) Creating training materials for clinicians and researchers on language equity best practices

(7) Advocating for language equity in research and operations, locally and nationally, including to funders, policymakers, and national accrediting organizations

To qualify, you must have:

  • Bachelor's degree and 4 years of experience or an Associate's Degree with 6 years of experience

  • Masters in Public Health, public policy, marketing and communications, or related field preferred

  • Experience in community organizing, advocacy, nonprofit sector, and/or content creation helpful

  • Bilingual skills preferred but not required

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations

  • Ability to work with diverse internal and external constituencies

  • 3-year commitment preferred

  • Strong leadership, organizational, interpersonal, advocacy, verbal and written communication skills, and a passion for language equity
