Dana-Farber Cancer Institute Program Manager in Boston, Massachusetts

The Program Manager I is responsible for organizing and managing the program in accordance with the goals and mission of DFCI. They will oversee multiple projects within the program and ensure timelines are met.

Located in Boston and the surrounding communities, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is a leader in life changing breakthroughs in cancer research and patient care.   • Develop annual budgets and operating strategies for the program.

  • Monitor program progress against targets/budgets after implementation to evaluate success and intervene to adjust as needed.

  • Develop and manage evaluation methods to access program strengths and identify areas of improvement.

  • Work closely with program leadership to enhance communication and transparency regarding project decisions and issues.

  • Oversee implementation of services/projects including documenting all necessary policies and procedures, system set-up, and staff training.

  • Produce tangible reports for management throughout project life cycles.

  • Participate in the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives.

  • Apply change, risk, and resource management.

  • Assure deliverables are aligned across the various projects within the program.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • May have supervisory responsibilities.

  • Bachelor's degree.

  • 3 years relevant experience as a project manager and/or program manager, preferably in a health care or research environment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Extensive knowledge of program management processes, performance evaluation and change management principles.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation procedures.

  • Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to manage a team with a diverse array of talents and responsibilities.
