WTW Project Management Team Lead in Boston, Massachusetts

WTW Benefits Accounts segment is looking for a PMO Lead and Technology Program Manager to manage team of Project Managers, implement large program initiatives, drive performance and best practices in transformative projects/programs for the organization. This role will collaborate and partner with Product, Technology, Sales and Operation leaders to define and support project roadmap, project delivery, and strategic plans for future initiatives. You will use your organization, critical thinking, and communication skills to support these initiatives and support the organization in all facets of project & program management. It is important you guide the PMO team in understanding the business outcomes, not just the tools and process used to achieve them.

The Role

  • Manage PMO and function it as Center of Excellence for the organization promoting quality standards, cost consciousness, quantitative based performance metrics, and repeatable processes.

  • Create standard communication practices, identify processes to track dependencies between Product function units to deliver project information in a repeatable and understandable format.

  • Partner with leaders across the entire organization to understand upcoming roadmap initiatives and priorities.

  • Provide leadership and vision regarding implementation of roadmap projects and senior management reporting.

  • Collaborate with Project and organization leaders on focused solution delivery and prioritization.

  • Continually monitor and develop timeline of in progress and upcoming projects.

  • Develop a standardized information sharing process to provide insight into the entire roadmap pipeline.

  • Participate in Product function team project evaluations to understand and set expectations of PMO and reduce any redundancies across teams.

  • Understand capacity resource utilization, adherence to budget and operational excellence.

  • Provide governance and create processes and tools for different SDLC disciplines like Scrum, Kanban, Lean and Waterfall

  • Provide training and guide team of Project Managers for growth and continuous success

  • Manage IT infrastructure and development projects critical for business

  • Underpin the project delivery mechanisms ensuring that all business change in an organization is managed in a controlled way.

  • Define PMO goals and align them with organizational goals and objectives and identify and analyze opportunities and make tactical/strategic recommendations

  • Collaborate with internal departments to insure that best practices are being followed as well as looking for continuous improvements.

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 10+ years of proven progressive performance in the management of information technology projects and programs.

  • Minimum 5 years of leading programs in a formal PMO; Minimum 2 years of establishing PMO processes and tools in a formal PMO

  • Practical experience in both Waterfall and Agile methodologies

  • Must have experience with Jira, Confluence as a planning tool

  • Proven track record of process improvement related to governance, procedure and strategy for organizational enhancements and improvements.

  • Ability to lead and influence without Organization Chart responsibility.

  • Identifies and initiates action plans with limited guidance, self-prioritizes, drives to deliver on commitments without prompting and communicates ahead of deadlines

  • Strong in developing PMO related artifacts

  • Confidently present to Senior Executives on program overview

Preferred Qualifications

  • Healthcare industry experience

  • Professional services, consulting experience

  • Proven solution delivery/service experience using Agile and ITIL methodologies, leveraging internal, external, and offshore skillset to optimize cost and support

  • Experience with SaaS solutions

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM), PMP (Project Manager Professional)

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary range and benefits information for this position are being included in accordance with

requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that base salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, qualifications/experience, performance in the role and potential for revenue generation (Producer roles only).


The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $100,000 - $108,000.

This role is also eligible for an annual short-term incentive bonus, performance-based recognition awards.
