Provider Data Trainer

job summary:

The Provider Data Trainer is responsible for the overall team training(s) and oversees the day-to-day training needs of the Provider Data team. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Quality. The Trainer is responsible for quality for the duration of the training period. This includes both accuracy and timeliness including meeting or exceeding Client Performance Guarantees (CPGs), other contractual obligations and regulatory requirements during the training period.

  • End-to-End Process Ownership. Ownership and accountability for each end-to-end process document(s).

  • Service Levels. Meeting or exceeding all internal and external service levels during the training period.

  • Workflow and Resource Optimization. Optimizing workflow, load balancing and resource optimization including work assignments, distribution during the training period.

  • Business Control Execution. Ensuring all training reporting is in place.

  • Audit and Quality Functions. Overseeing and manage all related audit and quality functions including determining appropriate audit levels for each team member during the training period.

  • Issue Management . Identifying and addressing all issues negatively impacting results and communicate readily to the team Manager or Director.

  • Policies and Procedure Management . Managing all policies, procedures and workflows and ensuring up-to-date documentation.

  • Driving High-performance Culture. Building and developing high performance teams and driving a culture of accountability, transparency, continuous improvement, customer focus and demonstrating the highest integrity.

  • Senior Subject Matter Expert. Serving as a Senior Subject Matter Expert for the staff.

  • Personnel Issue Escalation. Escalate all observed personnel issues (positive and negative) to the team Manager or Director.

Provider Data team members may be comprised of different Provider Data roles including Network Operations Representatives (NSR I's, II's, III's and IV's), Business Analysts (BA I's, II's, III's and IV's), Business Systems Analysts (BSA I's, II's, III's and IV's) and others.

Duties and Responsibilities

Leadership.

Lead and train Provider Data processes as assigned.

Drive a culture of continuous improvement, accountability and high-performance by example.

Help shape and execute Provider Data trainings.

Representation. Represent Provider Data across client and externally when asked. Advise Provider Data leadership and others in the operations of Provider Data. Operational Improvement. Help drive a culture of structured continuous improvement and identify short-term and longer-term opportunities to improve quality (accuracy and timeliness) and productivity - fact-based, data-driven root cause. Coordination. Coordinate communication and execution within the Provider Data Team. Metrics and Reporting. Help establish and maintain provider data metrics to measure, monitor, control and improve quality and efficiencies. Work with internal and external business partners to ensure improvement opportunities are identified, prioritized and addressed. Report performance results to leadership and other stakeholders. Conduct ongoing review of data to identify opportunities to improve service levels. Staff and Team Development. Provide Management insight and support to facilitate their mentoring and support of individuals and teams to develop and grow professionally. Mentor staff development to grow employees' skills. Training. Train employees on products, policies and procedural changes and effectively onboard new employees. Staff Management. Escalate employee relations issues including coaching opportunities, performance issues to Management. Communication. Communicate direction, strategy, status, issues and resolution at all levels of the Provider Data Team. Policies and Procedures. Lead, manage and assist in development / maintenance of department business process policies and procedures and ensure adherence. Document operational policies and procedures to support new programs. Oversight. Direct and oversee the operational activities and continuously evaluate effectiveness of the structure, policies and procedures. Confidentiality. Maintain appropriate confidentiality. Industry Knowledge. Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of changes and industry trends Other Job Duties. Perform other job related duties as dictated by business needs.

Qualifications

Education:

High school or high school equivalent. Four year undergraduate degree is preferred. A combination of education and experience may be considered.

Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

  • Two years' operations training experience in a health plan or managed care organization, preferably in behavioral health.

  • Two years' provider data and network operations experience is highly preferred.

  • Subject matter expertise in operations, healthcare and configuration.

  • Skilled managing, configuring and analyzing large data sets.

  • strong skills in process documentation, business controls, reporting, analysis, and process improvement including basic root cause analysis, process mapping, business controls, reporting, data analysis, implementing process improvements and process monitoring.

Computer literacy and experience with Microsoft office programs (Outlook, Word, Visio, and Excel) and Adobe PDF.
