Manulife Public Markets Project Manager in Boston, Massachusetts
The Project Manager plays a key role in contributing to the success of the global wealth and asset management division by providing key project management services to the business in support of Manulife Investment Management’s public markets investment organization. Reporting to the Senior Managing Director, Business Management, the Project Manager works closely with the project team to drive the business forward through detailed planning, tracking delivery of milestones/tasks and coordinating with cross-functional teams to deliver on strategic projects. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and looks to remove barriers and make the way we work more efficient. A proven track record with impeccable attention to detail, known for hitting deadlines and making the right call in challenging situations.
Position Responsibilities:
Support the Public Markets Business Office in organizing complex cross-functional projects with strategic impact on the investment business.
Work with the project team to plan and execute initiatives.
Coordinate tasks, monitor project timelines, track delivery of milestones/key metrics, identify risks and provide status updates.
Provide project administration including scheduling meetings, managing project documentation, and maintaining project SharePoint sites.
Participate in project meetings, document outcomes and action items, prepare reports and contribute to the overall project management process.
Communicate and collaborate within and across the organization for input on priorities, approach and solution designs.
Assist team members with complex items and recommend resolutions to potential issues.
Identify when project(s) appear to be deviating from plan and develop effective remedies for bringing project(s) back on schedule when required. Raise issues early and prepare options to resolve.
Work across team to improve processes (efficiency in how we manage or do work, provide updates, etc.)
Perform other ad hoc projects or tasks related to the business office as requested.
Qualifications:
1-2 years project management experience strongly preferred, PMP certification would also be a benefit
Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, or related field with experience in asset management, financial services or consulting industry preferred.
Attention to detail, organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively are essential for success in this position.
Ability to coordinate and manage interconnected pieces between multiple workstreams.
Ability to prioritize assignments, balance deliverables and ensure time schedules are maintained.
Structured, well organized with methodical planning, analytical and execution skills.
A capacity for constant learning from both success and failure, remaining open to change and continuous improvement.
Comfortable working independently, as well as in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Strong PC skills (i.e., MS Office suite of products, strong Excel, and Power Point skills).

Salary range is expected to be between
$68,475.00 USD - $114,125.00 USD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
