We are looking to hire a skilled Quality Assurance Analyst to work alongside our other talented test engineers and developers within CHIA’s Data Operation and Technology (DOT) Group.  The testers’ duties will include quality assurance testing of CHIA developed web-based applications, data intake and warehousing systems.  Working with their manager, this position will design, develop, document, and execute tests to verify that applications created by CHIA meet all business requirements and function as required.  Quality Assurance Analysts must be detail oriented and have excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly around the reporting of issues or defects found during test.

The Quality Assurance Analyst I is a full-time position and key member of CHIA’s software development organization reporting to the Manager, Software Test.  As a member of this team, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Create and document test plans and test files in accordance with business requirements for applications under test.

  • Conduct manual and/or scripted tests against applications under test to ensure business requirements are met.

  • Thoroughly document test case results utilizing tools such as MS Excel, Teams, Azure DevOps, CHIA collaboration tools and others 

  • Document issues in CHIA bug tracking applications, detailing functionality requirements deficits.

  • Perform troubleshooting to assist in identification of resolutions to both technical and non-technical problems.

  • Collaborate with and provide information and support to Application Developers to assist in corrective actions.

  • Create detailed test cases to evaluate the quality of web applications and systems built within CHIA.

  • Create and execute test cases using ‘production quality synthetic’ data sets to ensure application data integrity.

  • Provide testing estimates to management and project team, based on test cases.

  • Review and provide feedback to Business Analysts on application and systems requirements documents

  • Attend and / or lead bug triage meetings with development and business teams

  • Triage, logging and tracking of production bugs for LTC, RPO, and other CHIA Web Applications as applicable

  • Comply with CHIA data security requirements and assist in identifying potential data security risks.

    Here are the important qualifications we are looking for:

  • Minimum of 4 years software testing o r equivalent experience required .

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written, and presentation skills, along with excellent documentation skills

  • Ability to work independently with little guidance.

  • Ability to quickly learn new software applications and techniques as related to data submission/compliance and application testing

  • Ability to analyze processes and information, identify problems and trends, and develop effective solutions and strategies.

  • Creative thinking and resourcefulness to fulfill testing requirements with existing in house toolsets.

  • Ability to stay well organized, detailed and process oriented when under pressure to meet development deadlines.

  • Able to adapt to shifting priorities based on business needs and multi-task

  • Health Information and Analysis Industry knowledge

  • Experience with MS O365, SQL, Snowflake, MS Azure, Excel, ETL Tools

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
