State of Massachusetts Research and Surveillance Coordinator (Contractor) in Boston, Massachusetts

The Special Analytic Projects (SAP) unit in the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) Office of Population Health (OPH) seeks to hire a Research and Surveillance Coordinator for a temporary contract position. The ideal candidate will oversee all aspects of major surveillance activities and research projects in SAP. This position requires attention to detail, and someone who is goal oriented with a comfort level maintaining and updating systems. Knowledge of public health data surveillance is preferred. _Duties and Responsibilities (these are a general summary and not all inclusive):_ * * Project and process management. * Scheduling, facilitating, and taking notes for meetings. * Training and onboarding. * Communicating with internal and external stakeholders and data partners. * Quality control and documentation. * Monitoring grant deliverables. * Documenting financial and budgetary needs. * Developing and maintaining standard operating procedures. * Supporting the team with the preparation of data and other reports. * Proofreading and editing. *_Preferred Qualifications:_ * * Knowledge of public health data surveillance. * Basic data management (working with Excel and/or text files). * Basic data analysis (Excel and/ or SAS). *_DPH Mission Statement:_ The mission of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) is to prevent illness, injury, and premature death, to assure access to high quality public health and health care services, and to promote wellness and health equity for all people in the Commonwealth. We monitor health status and manage vital records including births, marriages and deaths.
