Boston University RESEARCH PROGRAM MANAGER II, School of Medicine, Biochemistry in BOSTON, Massachusetts
Seeking a detail-oriented individual to work with a multidisciplinary team investigating how viruses infect primary cells in advanced microphysiological systems/organ tissue equivalents. This individual will play a key role in project management of a recently funded cutting-edge research proposal.
The role will include helping oversee and coordinate the work of a group of three individuals undertaking wet lab research. Included in this will be collecting information and composing monthly reports on research progress for industry partners. The individual will also ensure effective interactions between an industry partner and NEIDL laboratories.
Additional responsibilities will include budget management, preparation of monthly reports, and coordinating with central administrative offices to ensure accurate set up and management of funding awards. Administrative duties include email correspondence, updating policy manuals, monitoring laboratory biosafety practices, and recording and distributing meeting minutes.
The individual hired will benefit from having experience with research experiments, as review of laboratory notes and experimental data will be part of the effort. Keeping good notes is essential as well as the ability to work within a team
The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced research environment, balancing both scientific and administrative tasks. Work will involve supporting activities related to research on BSL2 viruses within the NEIDL
Required Skills
Bachelor's and 2 years of related experience.
