Walsh is currently seeking a Resident Quality Control Inspector in the Greater Boston Area.
This person will ensure that construction work complies with the quality requirements of the contracts including inspection, material testing and documentation.

Responsibilities
Supports Quality Managers with task-specific quality management of a project such as captures, documents, publishes and tracks tests, inspections, submittals and procedures for project compliance.
Conducts field inspection of works to ensure compliance with the contract requirements and documents accordingly (inspections may range from general oversight, initial/follow-up inspections or fully detailed daily inspections as required by contract).
Conducts material testing (concrete, soils, masonry, steel, etc.) in which the inspector must be certified to test as required by the contract and industry standards.
Participates with project staff to inspect project site(s) to identify potential safety, site layout and/or compliance issues and reports to appropriate management. Participates and conducts THA/TQA, JHA and work plans in accordance with Walsh safety plan.
Responsible for material delivery inspection ensuring that delivered materials meet requirements of approved submittals and are delivered in acceptable condition. Reviews material certifications; ensures materials are stored and handled per contract and manufacturer requirements.
Works alongside Foremen, Project Engineers and Superintendents taking a proactive quality approach to ensure works are constructed Right The First Time. Raises potential concerns with safety, quality of the works, material usage, layout or scheduled works ahead of time so that project management team and field crews can take necessary precautions to remove risks accordingly.
Reports field quality issues with materials or the works back to appropriate quality and project management staff; supports issuance and resolution of QIRs when necessary.
Supports project engineers in the field by ensuring field crews have access to applicable documents (work plans, drawings, RFIs, SDS); properly manages materials and accurately tracks the quantity of works.
Qualifications
4+ years of experience in QA/QC plus job required industry certifications.
Prior experience with concrete restoration, steel installation, heavy civil construction and material testing is preferred
Industry certifications as required to conduct testing and inspection.
Experience performing sounding of concrete for structural suitable, ability to climb scaffolding and work in and around active construction operations is required
High school diploma required. Technical college or equivalent industry experience preferred.
Good communication skills, ability to learn on the job and problem solving abilities.
Knowledge of standards, specifications and publications of job related duties.
Some travel required.
Ability to transport under 50 pounds.
