Omni Hotels Seamstress/Tailor | Uniform Attendant in Boston, Massachusetts
The 1,000 plus roomOmni Boston Hotel at the Seaportis expected to open early 2021 and will be a one-of-a-kind, two-tower, luxury property. The new hotel, located at 450 Summer Street in South Boston’s Seaport District, will feature a signature spa and fitness center, event terrace, elevated pool deck, multiple dining establishments, bar and a variety of retail venues. It will boast more than 100,000 square feet of meeting and event space and feature the largest hotel ballroom in Boston.
The Uniform Room Attendant ensures that all uniforms are maintained, cleaned, and processed in a timely manner meeting the expectations of Omni Hotels & Resorts standards while minimizing as much discarded product as possible.
• Handling and organization of all associate uniforms.• Ensuring uniforms are maintained to Omni Standards.• Sorting of dirty linen from laundry chute to be processed.• Operating all washers, dryers, ironers and other laundry equipment.• Operating smaller washers/dryers to process specialty items or special requests for guests.• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the department at all times.• Take part in monthly linen inventories.• Adhere by safety and sanitization regulations as instructed by OSHA and the Omni Hotels & Resorts.• Encourages and builds mutual trust, respect and cooperation among co-workers. Treats co-workers fairly and equitably.• Maintain a professional, neat and organized appearance according to Omni Boston Seaport standards.• Respond swiftly and effectively in any emergency or safety situations. Ensure a safe working and guest environment to reduce the risk of injury or accident.• Attend all required department trainings and meetings.• Perform any other duties required by management.
• Alter, mend and modify uniforms according to uniform presentation standards• Arrange fittings for new associates • Operate various sewing machines and other equipment
• Must be able to stand in work station for up to 8 hours per shift• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.• Must be able to push and pull carts up to 250 pounds often throughout the shift.• Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch on a regular basis.• Must be able to travel to various areas of the hotel to pick/deliver linen items in allotted time provided.• Must be willing to work flexible hours as needed during busy times and high-profile events, including nights, weekends and holidays.• Candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to handle multiple priorities.• Must possess the ability to handle stressful and busy hotel operations. Ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor and composure at all times.• Must have the ability to report to work on time and when scheduled.• Must have the ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time.• Must meet standards of appearance and maintain a high level of personal hygiene at all time.• Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing in English with guests, management, and co-workers.• Computer literacy to include: Payroll systems
