Wayfair Senior Analyst Commodity Product Catalog, Next Gen Merchandising in Boston, Massachusetts

<p><strong>What You’ll Do:</strong></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">A Senior Analyst on the Commodity Products team is responsible for supporting the successful growth and integration of commodity products into the Wayfair marketplace. They will assist in the development and deployment of an end-to-end growth plan for our commodity catalog. This person will get the opportunity to help drive the roadmap on commodity products, partnering with cross functional teams, including algorithms, data science, and product to define a scalable approach to our commodity product strategy.&nbsp;&nbsp;</span></p>

<p><strong>Core responsibilities:</strong></p>

<ul>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Develop the commodity product catalog strategy including defining commodity items</span></li>

<ul>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Develop view of competitive landscape and treatment of commodity items to inform approach</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Own analytics and develop point of view on commodity item platform strategy - examples include - defining commodity items, commodity product pricing, and defining and unlocking supplier incentive strategies</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Act as an owner for execution of the strategy</span></li>

<ul>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Lead or partner with relevant platform teams on any pilot or consumer response experimentation agenda for your relevant area of expertise; work through experimental proof points where necessary to supplement business intuition / hypotheses</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Leverage Wayfair datasets and analytics to shape strategy</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">In partnership with your manager, coordinate the rollout of above strategy based on aligned-on path forward, prioritizing and staging cross functional &amp; platform team efforts</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">In partnership with your manager, influence the technology agenda across systems &amp; platforms necessary to enable commodity specific requirements</span></li>

</ul>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Partner with manager to develop communications of learnings and progress against plan development and execution to key stakeholders; develop analysis and reporting on key performance indicators&nbsp;</span></li>

<p><strong>What You'll Need:</strong></p>

<ul>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">2+ years of work experience in analytical, consulting, technology, startup, or strategy roles</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Bachelor’s degree from top-tier institution with a strong academic record in STEM field (GPA &gt; 3.5 preferred)</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Experience with large data sets and analysis using SQL/GBQ/excel is a preferred</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Strong quantitative skills – ability to develop analytical methodologies and assumptions, use data software to conduct the analyses, and synthesize findings</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Strong business acumen – ability to understand how various parts of the business interact, and can identify and approach problems from a customer perspective</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Ability to learn and act quickly, make decisions and draw conclusions in the face of ambiguity</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Intellectually curious, high energy, with a strong work ethic and a desire to work in a fast-paced, high stakes team environment</span></li>
